Simon and River do this on purpose.  They know I can't resist giving noogies and cheek rubs when they flop together like this!

Simon:  What ledge?  All I see is a closet door.
River:  It's a magic ledge.  If you stare at the door hard enough, the ledge appears.
Simon:  Neat!

Looks like River had a few too many nibbles of the rum box!  It's a good thing Simon is there to keep her from hopping under the influence.

Yes, you have no bananas...

Because this one belongs to me!
I tried to tell River that's not how the song goes, but she was too focused on figuring out why her banana didn't taste right to pay me any attention.  Judging by the look on her face, she's demanding to speak to my manager about me giving her a defective banana.

Somebun's jealous.

Me:  Oh, I'll have the giraffe snuggle on Simon.  It'll be cute!
River:  Not on my watch!

River:  Get off my Simon! [chomps giraffe butt]
Me:  Uh-oh.  Don't eat the giraffe!!!! [yoinks giraffe out of River's mouth]

The sound that came from River at this point could best be described as an angry "Meep!"

I set the poor giraffe on its feet only to have River rear up and punch it in the face, knocking it over.

Seriously, check out the look on her face.  Who knew snuggles could cause this kind of drama?

Simon decided to nope out of there after seeing River become an amateur pugilist.

Simon:  I'm flattered, but the giraffe and I are just friends.  You really need to work on your anger management issues.
River:  ...

Simon:  [flops next to the giraffe] We're all good, right?

River:  [slowly pushes Simon away from the giraffe and makes sure he can't see it]  Yeah, we're good.

Hugs for London.

After hearing of the horrific fire at Grenfell Tower and the terror attack at the Finsbury Park mosque, Simon and River are sending all of their love and hugs to the people of London.  Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of those who lost their lives and we wish the injured a speedy recovery.

Too much like work!

River is exhausted after giving Simon all of the kisses.  She even managed to put him into a blissed-out bunny coma.

To all the Dads out there...

Where'd she go?

River has ditched her climbing partner in hopes of reaching the summit a bit quicker.  She has made base camp at L-2 and hopes to conquer the couch tomorrow morning.

I caught Simon giving some lovin' to mirror bun and thought that might help brighten your day a bit.

Bunny condolences.

Our condolences to the family and friends of those who lost their lives yesterday at London Bridge and Borough Market.  We wish the injured a quick and full recovery.  We also wanted to thank the first responders, police, and those who worked in the local hospitals that helped to save the lives of the injured.  Our thoughts are with you.
In times like these, I take comfort in the fact that fear only has as much power as you allow it.  Making full use of the freedoms of your country is to laugh in the face of fear and those who seek to cause it or profit from it.

I'm impressed.  River managed to hook the wooden ball toy to the side of her cage completely silently.  I did a double-take as I came back into the room not long after giving it to her.  This is her proud 'I did a thing!' look (after I told her I'd share her accomplishment with all of you).
