Sorry for the late post.  We just got power back on here after some nasty storms moved through our area.

hide-and-sneak!  This is a bold move on Simon's part and I'm not sure how you win this particular game.

Mirror bun is real!

I honestly can't explain whatever trick of the lighting happened in this pic to create that shadow on the wall.  I choose to believe that Simon has known mirror bun has existed all along and is giving his friend kisses.

Intervention.

Simon:  I'm just saying that you're developing an unhealthy attachment to shoes.
River:  I am not!  You're just jealous that all of the shoes are mine...and any future shoes will also be mine.
Mr. Giraffe:  I'll be over here minding my own business and hoping they forget that I exist.  I don't want to touch this argument with a 10-foot pole!

That moment of relief when you spot the bunny (because it isn't like River can hear her name being called and come running when she goes missing).

They finally did it.

Operation Bunny Merge is complete!  I honestly can't tell where one bun ends and the other begins.

Okay, Mr. Giraffe, you knock their face masks off of the end-table and I'll get fur all over them!  It's only fair after they made me have yucky medicine.

It's been a long week for these two, but a generous helping of bunny kisses makes it all better!

Not sure.

After all of the bunny medical drama of earlier this week, River remains suspicious of my intentions.

Let's keep the streak going!

It has been 24 hours since either bunny has had medicine, a force-feeding, or has peed on me.

It all started with River's 3-day stint where she selectively forgot how to eat any solid food aside from the random piece of banana chip or candy in her pellets.  She acted hungry and showed interest in food, but refused to eat anything.  No signs of pain and her teeth looked good, so maybe a mini stroke or she's getting a bit dotty in her old age.

I had to play dirty and paint her front paws with critical care since she refused to swallow it from the syringe or actively tried to stick her tongue in it to make it spray everywhere.  I also discovered that if I made it into a thin paste, she would lap up off of a plastic lid, which was way cleaner than the finger paint method with the bonus that she wouldn't flick it off of her paws all over the place.  I also managed to get her to anger eat some celery by gently whapping her in the face with it until she'd try a bite.

Just when I finally got River to eat pellets again and put away the bunny medical supplies, Simon decided to hop on the sick bunny bandwagon.  We had some pretty severe storms come through the area and think the stress of the howling wind and thunder spooked him enough to stop eating.

Needless to say, I was very unpopular around here.  The bunny shunning was real and intense!

Thankfully, they're both slowly getting back to their normal feeding routine, they're having fun playing tag, and I've been given a full pardon for my earlier transgressions.  Life is good!

The floor is lava.

Not a day goes by where Simon doesn't lament the fact that our landlord replaced the carpet with wood.

The bun's dilemma.

If Simon sits there, all of the oats and carrot chips will be his, but he can't run around the living room and play.  If he goes to run and play, somebun else could take all of the oats and carrot chips.  What's a bun to do?

The bunny face cleaning thing gets me every time!  It's a struggle to not just go over and give her noogies.

River thought Simon was going in for a nose-bonk when he raced past her and did this.

We had wondered where Simon and River had gotten off to, then we received this photo.
The crew of the ISS also mentioned that bunny fur does in fact clog the air filters and they're now scrambling to bunny-proof their cable management.
The bunnies are in good spirits and are confident they've made the right choice given the current state of things planet-side.
