Hoppy Halloween!

River decided to be a French lop for Halloween.  I didn't have the heart to tell her that a French lop is just a much larger (10-15 pound) version of a Holland lop.  Instead, I let her know that she totally rocked the neckerchief!

Simon was totally into his role as an English lop and refused to leave his newly conquered territory of River's litter box (even though he barely fits in it).

A hoppy harvest.

I decided to try my hand at growing lettuce for the bunnies in my little make-shift grow box.  I ended up harvesting about 6 oz of leaves from three plants that really took off (only 35 days from seed to harvest).

It looks like Parris Island romaine and Black-Seeded Simpson lettuces like my coffee container, peat pellet, and miracle grow tomato food Kratky hydroponic set-up.

It makes me happy to see that Simon and River are enjoying the results of my gardening efforts! 😊

Little job creator.

Are you kidding me?!  I just finished cleaning Simon's cage and got some fresh hay in there when River hops in and proceeds to pee in his litter box.  (At that point, had I picked her up, she would've just become a pee fountain.)

Now, I have the privilege of cleaning Simon's litter box again because he needs to be able to re-claim his cage.  Otherwise, he'll act all weird until the next cage clean thinking he's trespassing in another bun's territory.  River is lucky she's cute!

Chaos and Mayhem pretend that they totally weren't just having a super secret bunny meeting.  Oh yeah, and I'm also not supposed to know their super secret code names.

After all these years, River still believes that my hand magically produces candy.  Her curiosity about what's in my hand is also responsible for me not being able to wear my engagement ring around her because she'll try to take that too.

I got you good!

River pulled a sneaky-sneak and hopped out of her cage while I was setting her food dish in.  This is what bunny laughter looks like--she did a bunny version of a knee slap by pattering her little feet on the floor while standing in this position.  The little munchkin thinks she just pulled the most epic prank ever!

Every once in a while, I catch River flopped out and sucking her thumb while she contemplates her next shenanigan.

This is Simon communicating.  He'd look at his food dish, then the pellet container, then at me.  I had to take it out for a bit since he decided that the only good use for hay was to sleep on it.  Picky little eater!

If only River's little front paw would stop slipping out from under her, she could fully enjoy Simon's bunny kiss-a-palooza!

Guard bun.

Simon waits for River's stint in bunny jail to be over.  He's hoping for time off with good behavior, but due to an epic temper tantrum involving chucking her celery stalk and toys into the litter box, her chances are not looking good.

Instant chaos.

Simon had a rough morning.  As he was hopping out of his cage, he misjudged the distance and tripped on the edge of the doorway making him lurch forward to hit his chin on the ground.  Then, as he was struggling to get his front paws under him, his back foot slipped between the slats and got hung up as he slid sideways down the ramp.  All of this chaos happened in a span of 2 seconds.

I quickly scooped him up to check him over.  Thankfully, nothing was injured except his pride.  Discombobulated from this whirlwind of events, he bolted into River's cage as soon as he was set back down.  River, having witnessed all the commotion, hopped back in her cage to give the shaken little fella a kiss.

Harrumph!

Little Miss Cranky-pants was not a fan of getting her face cleaned with wet wipes.  Perhaps next time she'll think twice before using her critical care log of food as a pillow.  At least she smells all nice and flowery now even if her disposition currently isn't!
