This is River studiously ignoring the fact that Mr. Giraffe is lower than she is and has won the 'get low, get kisses' game.

Hi, gimme candy!

This is River multi-tasking trying to give nose-bonks and show me where the apple chip bag is.  Also, can you tell who fell asleep with her head in her food?  Oh, bunnies!

So conflicted.

On the one hand, River is giving him kisses.  On the other, she is giving kisses in his ear, which is super ticklish.  Poor Simon was doing his best to hold still by burrowing into the blanket hoping she'd pick a better spot for kisses.

Atta girl!

River ate this entire bowl of 'bunny granola' (oats, timothy pellets, sunflower seeds, and apple chips)!  She hasn't eaten pellets in 4 months, so this is huge progress for her.  I'm going to slowly increase the amount of pellets in this mixture so she's eating more solid food and try to transition her off of the food paste.

It'll be good to have her getting more of her calories from pellets instead of having to rely on the ground oats and critical care in the food paste and candy to keep her weight up!

This is why you're little.

I came downstairs this morning to find River's food plate missing from her table...until I looked a bit closer.  She was very proud of yanking the plate off of the tape and cramming it food and all in the tiny space next to her 'spaceship'.  Sorry about the poor photo quality--she was turning around to show me her new-found ability to hide her food from herself.

I'm sure they're plotting an apple chip heist for this weekend!  Probably trying to decide who would make the better lookout--Scoots McGee with his sunglasses or Mr. Giraffe for obvious reasons.  Either way, apple chips will be munched!

Got tummy rubs?

I had to laugh when I noticed the cloth Simon was laying on.  I literally gave the little dude the shirt off of my back to use as a security blanket because he was going through separation anxiety around the time we moved to the new apartment.  The little guy would thump whenever I was out of his sight for more than 10 minutes.  He kept that shirt for years until it got too well-loved to keep! 💕

Did you really think that a simple wash cloth would prevent me from peeing in this tunnel if I wanted to?  The only reason I'm not peeing in here right now is because I'm out of ammo, not because of the wash cloth.  I pee where I want!  Fear me!!!

She hip-checked Scoots McGee to keep him away from her celery stalk.  Meanwhile, Mr. Giraffe is in the background making no noise and pretending like he doesn't exist in hopes of avoiding a similar fate because he's standing next to the banana chip container.

This is how River lets me know that I'm taking too long cleaning her cage.  She was snuggling Scoots McGee and making little bunny snores/talking in her sleep.  She is a vocal little munchkin!

Friends again!

River graciously forgave Mr. Giraffe for not giving kisses when they were demanded.  Mr. Giraffe's bunny kissing assistants will have to do better going forward.

Really though, I'm going to have to make sure big human can spot me while I'm cleaning her cage out because she was genuinely hurt that she didn't get kisses when she expected them.  The little munchkin acts independent, but she's just a little cuddle-bug when it comes down to it!
