Hoppy Halloween! 🎃

River would like to reiterate that even though Halloween falls on a taco Tuesday, this taco's not for eating, just for lookin' at. 

Sooo good!

I learned the hard way that the only way to give River carrot baby food is by syringe (as a treat and to make sure she gets enough liquids).  She's trying to yank the syringe out of my hand as though that will magically make more carrot yummies come out.

Now to clean the baby food off of her face from earlier...  Good thing she already has orange spots because those stains are not comin' out! 😜

I'm not talking to you! [shunning intensifies]

We had to do some slight alterations to River's cage so she could move around a bit easier.  She was having trouble navigating the jump into her litter box and it was getting to be a challenge to keep things sanitary.  We have paper bedding everywhere but her spaceship and her food is all in the same place as usual, just up on folded washcloths to keep the bedding out of them.

River is not a fan of this change.  Fingers crossed she adjusts fairly quickly!

(Also, please ignore the marks on my thumbnail.  I use that to get consistent stitches when sewing.)

I made a thing!

I wanted to give Dad something made from Mom's clothing for Christmas this year and since there's no way I'll be able to finish the memory quilt in time, I decided to make a pillow with Mom's chipmunk on it.  (River thinks the pillow is okay, but there should be a bunny on it instead.  Everybun's a critic!)

This is Mom's chipmunk.  The little guy has been climbing up the fence and watching Mom at her computer as though she were his TV since at least 2018.  She'd always get the biggest kick out of seeing the little guy and would wave to him.  Dad still sees him up there daily looking in the window for her.

This raw-edge appliqué was self-drafted and all sewn by hand.  The stitches going around everything are 1mm apart.  I learned a lot about how to use (and not use) double sided fusible interfacing with this project.  Overall, it took about a month to complete my first attempt at making a pillow. 

Plotting revenge.

River would like me to know that this injustice of the paw cleaning will not stand.  She will find my slippers and pee in them.  I won't know when it'll happen, but my feet will soon be as wet as hers are now!

Traffic jam.

This morning, we have reports of a collision at the Bunny Tunnel entrance ramp.  There was a failure to yield on the bun-lane road causing two bunnies to get stuck.  Expect major delays.

Bunny logic.

Me:  Where's your foo--oh.

Me:  [trying to grab the food plate] Let's put this back where it belongs.

River: [head-butts my hand away] Noooo!  I was heating it up.  I like warm paste!

Me:  Dude, the plate is flipped over.  You can't eat it that way.  Let me have it.

River: [puts all of her 3 pound weight on my hand trying to pin it down] My paste!  Mine.

Me:  [manages to get the plate without making a mess] Here, now you can eat your food...while it's still warm.

River: [sulking intensifies] I don't want it now.

Thinking hard.

River is trying to decide if she wants to flop back down for a longer nap or try to convince me to give her more treats.  At least she knows that I won't give her a treat if she's going to fall asleep with it in her mouth, so that leaves doing both at once off the table!

River really isn't a patient bun, is she?  Poor Simon just trying to clean his foot and then she wedges her head under it to get kisses. 😅

Catching some sweet dreams!

I swear that there's no better rested animal on the planet than a deaf bunny.  The little munchkin was chattering away in her sleep and the sound drew me over from the kitchen and this was how I found her.  Those propeller ears and little smile just cracked me up! 😂

Aww, yeah!

I accidentally noogied River into a coma and then had to gently wake her back up once I got her cage cleaned.  Scoots McGee looks pretty disapproving of the whole wakey-wakey bit.

It's basil time!
