She was loved.

We lost River at 10:30 this morning.  She passed away peacefully in my lap with big human giving her noogies and purring away until almost the very end.  We were so lucky to have the little munchkin in our lives for 12 years.  I'm sure she's off on a grand adventure with Simon and getting up to all kinds of shenanigans!

I'm sure we'll eventually open our hearts to another pair of little ones in need of a good home, but it's going to be a while.  When we do, I'll share their ups and downs with you as I have with Simon and River.  Hugs to you all and thank you all so much for visiting the blog for all these years.

Hoppy Easter!

River is having a little house party with her besties!  (She's a little salty about me moving the Easter eggs out of reach since she was about to chow down on the closest one.  It's a good thing we have plenty of more appropriate holiday snacks for her and her friends!)

We're going to be visiting with family for the next two weeks, so we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on April 15th.

Time to eat!

The little munchkin has a schedule to keep and the cage cleaning is going to have to wait until she's done.

It was funny how she waited until I got the fresh towels down before hopping out of her spaceship/Ziploc container and gave me her 'Gimme my food, human!' look along with a baby thump.  I kept offering her various food items back until she settled on the paste I so rudely stole prior to cleaning. 😂

I really have to question Simon's choice of paw placement right on River's nose during this little snuggle session. 😅

River took her pellet dish for a walk.  I guess propping it up like that makes the pellets easier to get to!

Look at this unrepentant little face!  Just moments earlier:

Me:  Let's clean your ears up so you don't have issues. [places ear flush drops in both ears and gives ear massage]

River:  Nooo!  It feels weird!!! [violent ear flapping and angry meeps]

Me:  [feels something wet all over the bottom half of my face and neck] Eeew, River!  That was not very cash money of you.  Now I need a shower and possibly go boil my skin.

River:  That's what you get!!!

Me:  Yeah, well joke's on you--I'm cleaning your face after I'm done with my shower.

So, we learned a lesson today about cleaning bunny ears and the need to get the heck out of Dodge before the ear flapping starts.  Good to know!

Clean all the things!

River was the unwilling participant in a spa day.  I flushed her ears to clean them, cleaned the cooties off of her front paws since she was expressing herself with her food again, and managed to get the carrot baby food off of her face before the stain set in!  Feeling pretty accomplished right now. 😊

My lettuce!

River noticed Mr. Giraffe eyeing her lettuce and immediately set her chin on it to claim it.  We're still working on the whole sharing thing! 😅
