It really is hilarious how a one pound weight difference makes Amos look like Naomi's baby doll.

Keeping cool.

We've been having a bit of a heat wave here for the past week, so Amos and Naomi have been loving their own personal air conditioners!

Tunnel zoomies!

Racing through the tunnel was so fun that Naomi's going back for more!

Amos and Naomi's first vet visit!

Amos and Naomi (and Mr. Giraffe) waiting for the vet to enter the exam room.  Amos was remarkably calm and just played with the hay and towel in his carrier as we waited.  Naomi was busy hyperventilating while staring into the distance and ended up with a wet nose and muzzle from being so upset.  After about 10 minutes of noogies, giraffe kisses, and gentle words, she calmed down and started cleaning then flopped due to boredom.  Clearly, I didn't bring enough entertainment with me!

Naomi was a very good girl for her exam and let them weigh her without much fuss.  She refuses to believe she weighs just over 4 pounds and wants a do-over.  She ate pellets and some lettuce before her appointment, so that's probably why.

Amos had a mini freak-out during his exam and is why everything is on the ground (they were worried he'd launch himself off of the exam table).  It took three of us to corral him onto the scale to get his weight.  He clocks in at a mighty 3 pounds, which is close to what Simon weighed full-grown.  Amos just looks small because we're comparing him to Naomi.

Seriously, push the button and weigh me again!

After everybun got their RHDV2 vaccine, we were told to hang out for about 30 minutes to make sure neither of them were allergic to anything in it.  Amos took a bit of coaxing to come back out of his carrier to stretch his legs and let me get a good look at him while we waited.  This is his new favorite spot to observe his surroundings (since I wouldn't let him crawl under the exam table with all the wires and other neat stuff under there).

What do you mean we have to come back in 21 days for another shot?!

Yeah, the bunnies were not thrilled to learn that it's a 2-part vaccine.  I'm pretty sure Mr. Giraffe, Esq. will be sending me a strongly worded letter on behalf of his clients.

Naomi is not a fan of car rides and ended up with a wet muzzle when we got home.  At least she calmed down quickly and immediately ate the romaine leaf I gave as a peace offering.  We're going to have to get her used to traveling so she knows that it won't always end in a vet visit.  I also ordered them larger travel cages in case that was adding to her travel stress.

Amos and Naomi are doing well and I'll be keeping close watch on them for the next couple days.  Their vet mentioned that reactions to vaccines are pretty rare in rabbits, so that's good.

Nyoom!

Amos has the zoomies and is leaping hurdles that aren't even there to show how ready he is for the new week!

(This is good because he and Naomi are having their first vet check-up and are getting their RHDV2 vaccines later today. 💉)

Naomi decided that she should finger-paint on the wall after dipping her paws in the water dish.  She looks pretty proud of herself and I don't have the heart to tell her that once it dries, her masterpiece will become invisible.

Naomi:  Hi Mr. Giraffe! [gives enthusiastic nose-bonk]

Mr. Giraffe:  [face-plants into towel]

Naomi:  Nooo!  What have I done?!

Amos:  What happened?

Naomi:  Don't look!  Mr. Giraffe wouldn't want you to see him this way.

No worries--further bunny drama was averted when I set a well-loved Mr. Giraffe back on his feet! 💕🦒

Naomi:  [bracing the box from moving] So, what do you see back there?

Amos:  I can't see anything.  I'm not tall enough!

Naomi:  [bracing Amos' leg and the box] Okay, how about now?

Amos:  Still nothing.

Naomi:  [muffled] How about now?

Amos:  What are you doing?!  I don't care what's over there anymore.  Put me down!

Amos:  How do you erase a memory?  We're gonna pretend that never happened.

Naomi:  Whatever.  I'm too invested in this now.  What is back there?!

Naomi:  I'm tired.

Amos:  I'm exhausted!!!

Naomi is chaos incarnate while bumble-binkying all over the place.  Amos wisely watches from the relative safety of the corner.  He's been binky-trampled one too many times to not learn that lesson!

Amos and Naomi's first tornado warning! 🌪️

Two humans and two bunnies in a 2.5 x 4.75 foot space (taken up mostly by the toilet) was a bit cramped for everyone involved.  Basements aren't common in this area.  Amos and Naomi couldn't be left to roam the bathroom since they're just old enough to get into trouble and too young to be spayed/neutered yet.

I'm pretty sure Naomi is plotting revenge for me having to scruff her and stuff her in the travel cage.  We didn't have much warning, so speed was imperative.  She can pee in my shoes later so long as she's safe now.

Amos got the same treatment, but he was way less salty about it.  I assume it was because he was in the penthouse suite, so he felt pampered. 

Thankfully we were unscathed, but we're still waiting to hear the reports on how strong the tornado was given that it collapsed a few buildings and trapped some people inside.

Amos is hide and seek grand champion!

Those wood chips were under his litter box to catch any mistakes while potty training.  Apparently, the little dude's epic overnight bunstruction project required ALL of the wood chips to be re-located to the center of his cage.

He was very proud of himself and startled me by hopping over and licking my nose in greeting (he's never done that before).  How could I possibly scold him after that?!  Amos is sneaky smart!

Naomi is apologizing for accidentally bowling Mr. Giraffe over earlier.  Sometimes zoomies are hard to control!

Amos understands how tricky ears can be to clean, so he's helping clean the outside of Naomi's ear while she works on the inside.
