Hey, Amos--I'm gonna get behind the entertainment center tonight!  All I need is for you to be a distraction.  Try flipping your litter box.  That always gets the little human running over!

Post-surgery playtime!

I missed you guys soooo much!!! [kisses&chinning intensifies]

Naomi wasted no time in trying to climb all the things (including their toy chest). Silly of me to think that if I didn't put all of their toys out, she'd take it easy and just hop around a bit! 😅

Making progress!

Amos is making sure that I see him munching on pellets so I know that he does not want to be force-fed ever again.  I think we're both still traumatized by his rapid transformation into a fluffy tornado of teeth and claws.  Thankfully, he had the good grace to take his bite-y wrath out on the towel.  Alas, my arms are testament to the sharpness of his newly vet-clipped nails.

Naomi is munching on her celery and giving me the side-eye.  She still hasn't forgiven me for baiting her into my lap with a papaya treat and switching to giving her pain meds instead.  (She got the papaya bite afterwards, I'm not a complete monster!)  Granted, she did nip me in a place that totally violates the girl code along with on my arm and fingers during her day and a half of force-feedings every 2 hours, so that should be more than enough payback.  Girlfriend holds a grudge!

They're both recovering well and don't need pain meds anymore.  They're eating more each day and have been hitting their greens and pellets pretty hard.  I'm going to give them each some yard time tomorrow so they can get some exercise now that they're off the pain meds.  I'll keep a close eye on them so they don't run amok, but being able to feel pain if they overdo it should help them go easy with the playtime for now.

Long day.

Poor little Amos is thinking that no amount of papaya bites will ever make this day okay.  Little fella is so done with everything that he just cleaned himself up a bit and took a nap.

Naomi is still gorked out of her skull on pain meds and is wondering if this is real life.  She eventually roused herself to eat some celery and romaine, so that was a huge relief!

I have pain meds (gabapentin) for both of them as well as critical care.  I'm hoping they'll both start eating and drinking well enough on their own to not need force-fed so I don't stress them out more than they have been.  The vet office will call me Friday morning to check up on the little munchkins and see if we need to make any changes to their care plan.

Bunny spay and neuter day!

Naomi:  OPEN THIS DOOR, little human!

Amos:  [munching] This is a really good papaya bite.

Mr. Giraffe:  I'm just here for the photo op.

Amos:  Um, I think there must be some mistake...the door's closed and I'm out of papaya bites.

Naomi:  I'm gonna wreck this carrier if you don't let me out!

Mr. Giraffe, Esq.:  As your legal counsel, Naomi, I'd strongly advise against committing any acts of vandalism.  Especially if it's being recorded by the property owner, like right now.

Just dropped the little munchkins off at the vet.  They'll keep me updated on how Amos and Naomi are doing and I'll let you all know as soon as I can.

EDIT: 2:53pm Just got a call from Amos and Naomi's vet that they're both out of surgery and are recovering well. Everything went well and I'll be able to pick them up at 5pm today! 😀 🎉

EDIT-EDIT: 8:56pm Everybun is back in their own large cage to limit them jumping around and potentially injuring themselves. Amos was eating a bit on his own around 5:30pm when I was able to bring them home. Both accepted a papaya bite and cranberry once I got them settled (usually, that helps them realize they're hungry). Naomi just started eating some romaine, so that's a relief (the tech said she is stubborn and kept spitting out the critical care they tried to feed her)! Poor Amos is looking sad because he was cleaning and realized that he's missing something he had this morning.

Naomi:  Mr. Giraffe, you have a tag on your butt!  Here, I'll help remove it for you.

Amos:  I wanna help do minor surgery too!

Mr. Giraffe:  [muffled] I need an adult!!!

No worries--Mr. Giraffe was whisked away before the bunnies could do any cosmetic surgery on him. 

Speaking of surgeries, Amos and Naomi will be getting neutered/spayed this Thursday, so I'll be posting later than usual that day and update when I bring them back home.

Little cranky-pants.

Naomi is sulking because Amos claimed the favorite flopping spot.  Amos is hiding behind his ear so he can pretend that she's not annoyed with him. 😅

 Amos and Naomi think Monday should be postponed until they're both better rested.

Amos has many toys, but the box is the best one.  I caught him mid 'pick it up, put it down' game.  Little fella is all about the simple pleasures in life!

Decisions, decisions.

Naomi is torn between wanting to run through the tunnel and play with the truck.  She just figured out how to push the truck across the floor, so it's a new favorite toy.  Alas, the siren call of the tunnel with multiple openings is also calling her name!  How to choose only one fun thing to do?!

Amos is intrigued by the closet door while Naomi can't quite believe she's being used as a step stool right now.

I'm a big boy!

Amos was super proud of being able to touch the bottom of the coffee table.  I didn't have the heart to tell him that Naomi can rest her chin on top of that same table. 😅
