First snuggle flop!

Amos and Naomi are starting to bond a bit.  It looks like Amos might end up being alpha bun if the kisses I've seen Naomi give him are anything to go by!  It's been a big week for the little munchkins, but things are going well so far and they're adapting well to their new home.

Somebun was busy.

This is how I found Amos this morning.

The little dude is a big fan of building a strong defensive perimeter for his bunny cave!  Flipping his hay container to protect it from invaders was a brilliant tactical move as well.

Naomi is trying her best to get all four feet in the water dish.

She's a perfectionist and is trying to get the butt in there too!

They're so little!!!

Amos gently boops the Coke can showing off that he is in fact taller than the can.  He's a big boy, not a 'sweet little man' like I keep telling him!

Naomi is seriously considering if she should try to tip the can over because that would be super fun.  In all honesty, I think the can probably weighs more than either of them!

Introducing Amos and Naomi.

This is Amos.  He is a cautious little fella who is not to be trusted with cloth (towels are tasty).

This is Naomi.  She is a fearless little explorer who managed to fit into the 1 inch gap between our couch and loveseat.

 So tiny!

We brought the little munchkins home on Sunday and we can already tell that they're going to keep us on our toes!

She was loved.

We lost River at 10:30 this morning.  She passed away peacefully in my lap with big human giving her noogies and purring away until almost the very end.  We were so lucky to have the little munchkin in our lives for 12 years.  I'm sure she's off on a grand adventure with Simon and getting up to all kinds of shenanigans!

I'm sure we'll eventually open our hearts to another pair of little ones in need of a good home, but it's going to be a while.  When we do, I'll share their ups and downs with you as I have with Simon and River.  Hugs to you all and thank you all so much for visiting the blog for all these years.

Hoppy Easter!

River is having a little house party with her besties!  (She's a little salty about me moving the Easter eggs out of reach since she was about to chow down on the closest one.  It's a good thing we have plenty of more appropriate holiday snacks for her and her friends!)

We're going to be visiting with family for the next two weeks, so we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on April 15th.

Time to eat!

The little munchkin has a schedule to keep and the cage cleaning is going to have to wait until she's done.

It was funny how she waited until I got the fresh towels down before hopping out of her spaceship/Ziploc container and gave me her 'Gimme my food, human!' look along with a baby thump.  I kept offering her various food items back until she settled on the paste I so rudely stole prior to cleaning. 😂

I really have to question Simon's choice of paw placement right on River's nose during this little snuggle session. 😅

A jaunty angle.

River took her pellet dish for a walk.  I guess propping it up like that makes the pellets easier to get to!

Look at this unrepentant little face!  Just moments earlier:

Me:  Let's clean your ears up so you don't have issues. [places ear flush drops in both ears and gives ear massage]

River:  Nooo!  It feels weird!!! [violent ear flapping and angry meeps]

Me:  [feels something wet all over the bottom half of my face and neck] Eeew, River!  That was not very cash money of you.  Now I need a shower and possibly go boil my skin.

River:  That's what you get!!!

Me:  Yeah, well joke's on you--I'm cleaning your face after I'm done with my shower.

So, we learned a lesson today about cleaning bunny ears and the need to get the heck out of Dodge before the ear flapping starts.  Good to know!

River was the unwilling participant in a spa day.  I flushed her ears to clean them, cleaned the cooties off of her front paws since she was expressing herself with her food again, and managed to get the carrot baby food off of her face before the stain set in!  Feeling pretty accomplished right now. 😊

River noticed Mr. Giraffe eyeing her lettuce and immediately set her chin on it to claim it.  We're still working on the whole sharing thing! 😅

What better way to celebrate than with a double binky?

If I nudge Simon right now, he'll roll over.

Thankfully, River fought her impulsive tendencies and Simon had no idea that he was only seconds from disaster!

So that happened.

River realized that big human was missing and decided that she should drag her dish of paste into the center of her cage to pee on it in protest.  Not sure how that was supposed to bring big human back from his work trip, but bunny logic is a bit beyond us mere humans.

Mr. Giraffe, Esq. would like to point out that he strongly advised his client against peeing on her food, but since it did result in fresh paste, he considers that a win even though big human didn't magically materialize due to her actions.  River, unhappy with this outcome (even though second breakfast was tasty), appears to be considering escalation to bring her big human back.
