How do they always know?!

[like a messed up travel brochure/commercial] Feeling bored and have a long holiday weekend coming up where exotic vet offices will be closed?  Stop eating and get gurgle tummy with early GI stasis--a winning combination!  You get lots of extra attention and making the humans worry is just a bonus.

Thankfully, a night of me sleeping on the couch to monitor her, lots of force feeding, pro-biotics (Bene-Bac plus), pain meds, and a couple of doses of metoclopramide (a gut motility drug) later, the little munchkin is finally eating on her own and going to the litter box again!  I'm so glad I had kept Simon's leftover medicine in the 'fridge because it was a definite life saver here.

The little munchkins are all tuckered out from playing in their super special bunny fort.  This is also me being voluntold to do sentry duty in the cutest way possible.

It's all good, sweet pea.

River patiently let me clean her front paws and brush her fur even though she was not happy about it one little bit!  At least she accepted the noogies and cranberry from me for being a good little munchkin.

River has a full tummy and now it's nap time.  She was actually eating hay today, so that's huge progress for her!

Meanwhile, Simon has found a pellet and is pretty jazzed about this sudden windfall.  The loss of his second (stolen) breakfast was a bit of an adjustment for the little fella.

How Simon became River's accountabilibunny (and how he learned the hard way that you should always lawyer up).  Sadly, the case of River's missing pellets remains unsolved.

Where's my big human?

Big human had to travel to the other side of the country this week for work and River was having a sad when she realized he was still gone.  Naturally, everyone pitched in to try and turn her little frown upside down.  Thankfully, he should be back Thursday evening and then all will be right with her world again! 

Time to clean!

Once again, Simon and River tap into the bunny hive-mind.  I love how they're helping each other balance as they try to get those hard to reach spots! 😂

The key to River sharing her food is that she has to have something better than what's being shared.  In this case, it's noogies and an apple chip for her, romaine for Mr. Giraffe.  Even Scoots McGee is uninterested in the food paste that was his lot.
