Makin' it weird.

Naomi was trying to re-claim Mr. Giraffe after he was Apollo's vet buddy for his neuter. He also had a bit of critical care on him, which Naomi was happily trying to clean off.

I want a box too!

Naomi was a bit jealous of baby Apollo because he got a box to loaf on. She didn't believe me when I said her badonkadonk wouldn't fit on a box that size.

Baby bun fort!

Baby Apollo in his Mini Fortress of Solitude just after we brought him home.

I'll have posts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until October 5th.

Dizzy boop!

Apollo was buzzing and circling me at warp speed, then paused with his foot on mine to give Puff a nose-bonk. It was like he was saying, "Don't worry, I like you too!"

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend! I'm going to be in Ohio with the bunnies until October taking care of my parents' estate stuff and working on the house, so I'll have as many posts as I can make ahead of time for you guys (may space them out some if needed, so check back if I skip a day) and will be back with regular posting on October 5th. I'm not sure if I'll be able to reply to you guys if you comment while I'm away, but will as soon as I can!

Definitely feeling better.

Apollo has resumed his quest for 'up' and is making amazing progress! He even managed to jump onto the back of the couch (a bunny feat not seen since River) and hop down from the couch all by himself. He was very proud of that and had to show us this new ability multiple times!

Feeling better!

It didn't take long for Apollo to binky up a storm after being released from cage rest after his neuter!

Very proud of herself.

Naomi created a new game called 'hang the pine-cone' because chucking it into her water dish was just too easy. It's like she's slapping it with her paw and saying, "Yup, this sucker is not going anywhere!"

(I really did end up having to use a surprising amount of force to free the pine-cone.)

Apollo is just a little munchkin!

Here Apollo is at 18 weeks old just before surgery trying to look like a big bunny.

When he really looks like this. The vet said he weighed 2.2 pounds at his spay neuter on Friday.

To give an idea of size, Amos was 3 pounds and Naomi was 4 pounds at 15 weeks old, so Apollo is fun-sized!

Apollo is all tuckered out and is using his pine-cone as a pillow with his little paw up on it! He's been eating very well on his own and going to the litter box like normal, so he's definitely on the mend. Thank you all for your well wishes!

Sproing!

We're taking Apollo in for her spay today, so it's going to be a bit before it's safe for the little munchkin to binky up a storm again.  I'll keep you guys updated on how things go.

Update 9:44am   Just dropped Apollo off for her spay.  Her curiosity led her into the travel cage without a fuss.  Oddly, Naomi was the one who started thumping once she saw Apollo in the travel cage.  Like, why are you thumping?  You're not even the one going to the vet!

When I got back, Naomi hopped out of her cage and went looking for Apollo.  I had to cheer her up with a banana chip because she looked really subdued and I think she's actually worried about the little munchkin.

I was told they would call me close to when they close today, so I'll let you know how things went then.

Update 11:16am   Mazel tov--Apollo's a boy!  Apparently his trouble puffs were all kinds of tucked up in there and wouldn't have come down on their own.

Update 8pm  Apollo is home and happily munching on pellets!  It's been a long day for the little fella.  I have pain meds for him and just need to keep an eye on the surgery site. We're just glad he's feeling well enough to eat on his own!

The vet did say that the one teste that was stuck inside (cryptorchid) had the appearance of ova due to the body temperature causing that change in histology, while the other that partially descended was normal.

Naughty binky!

This was Naomi's reaction to being caught chewing through the thong on my sandal.  Like, girl, I already broke one ankle this year, I'm not trying for a second.  She lives for chaos!

Zoomies!

Just had to share the bun's eye view of baby Apollo running circles around me. The little munchkin was buzzing as she went!

Racing into the weekend!

Apollo's got lots of baby bun stuff to do!

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend! Stay safe out there and we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on Monday.

She's helping!

I'm sure the whisker tickles on Big Human's leg were just the thing he needed to get the litter box cleaning done!

Wednesday, August 5, 2026

Gossip girls.

I have no idea what they're talking about, but Naomi is blowing raspberries about something!

Ducky drama!

Naomi is going to get a crick in her neck trying to make sure Apollo knows that Ducky belongs to her. It's like chinning plushies is an Olympic sport around here!

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend! Stay safe out there and we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on Monday.

I want one!

I think the hotel luggage rack was Naomi's favorite part of our vacation. She was absolutely fascinated by it and kept muzzling it. Apparently it was the neatest bunny fort ever!

Itinerary planning.

Naomi was doing lots of research on what we should do on vacation.

Discussing her findings with Big Human and plotting our next adventure.

Apollo was more interested in exploring under the air conditioning unit, so the guide book pulled double duty as baby bunny proofing!

Sun's out, buns out!

Apollo and Naomi were little beach buns in Ocean City, Maryland. The little munchkins were intrigued by the ocean and were quite popular with the folks on the boardwalk as I took this pic with their new friend, Terry the sea turtle. It had rained overnight and the sun came out just as we were about to leave, so I had to get a pic of them at the beach!

We had a great time visiting with family and couldn't have asked for better weather while we were there. After everything that's happened this year, we really appreciated the change of pace for a couple days!

She's all ears!

We're going to the beach tomorrow?!  Hooray--Sun's out, buns out!

Since we're going to be visiting with family, we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on Monday.  Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great rest of the week!

A new friend!

Apollo got to meet Mr. Hoppy-pants today!  I rescued him from our Isle of Misfit Bunny Toys (poor little dude was buried under some dried pinecones, stacking cups, and other bun stuff not in our normal rotation).  At least he got a warm welcome and lots of kisses!

(I was curious, so I had to look through some old posts and apparently I made him back in 2019.)

Hungry baby!

Apollo was helping me serve dinner.

She's been polishing off her pellets a few times a day, so she's definitely going through a growth spurt!  We're also working on the 'circle-circle' command so she can be distracted and not knock the pellets out of my hand when I try to put them in her dish.

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend!  Stay safe out there and we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on Monday.

If at first you don't succeed ...

Naomi:  [knock-knock]

Apollo:  Who is it?

Naomi:  Land Bun.

Apollo:  Go away!

Naomi:  ... [knock-knock]

Apollo:  Who is it?

Naomi:  Candygram!

She regrets nothing.

Apollo let the intrusive thoughts win and completely emptied her hay bag onto the ground...then peed on the alfalfa hay carnage.

Litter box training is hard.

She would also like some more leafy alfalfa hay and for me to put together a search party for her food dish.

Update: Search and rescue operations were called off this morning when Apollo's food dish was discovered in a pool of baby bunny pee in a shallow grave of alfalfa hay. The poor pellets inside the food dish never had a chance!

Our brave girls!

Apollo and Naomi went to the vet on Monday for their RHDV2 boosters and check-ups. Baby Apollo now weighs 2.2 pounds and Naomi clocks in at 4.8 pounds. Everything went well and they even gave the little munchkins baby carrots as a snack for being such good little girls! (This was Apollo's first taste of carrot and she absolutely loved it.)

Baby danger bun!

This is why we have to look everywhere before moving when Apollo is having playtime.  She loves the 'human tunnel game' and we have to always be on guard to not squish the baby.  (Humans are also fun to climb on, so we're really just a baby bunny jungle gym.)

Friday, July 10, 2026

Rabbitude.

I love how Naomi is looking at me as though the wonky state of her tunnel is my fault. Yes, clearly I was the mastermind behind running straight ahead instead of picking the left or right tunnel. I'm sneaky that way!

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend! Stay safe out there and we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on Monday.

Easily distracted.

It's good to know that we can immediately get Apollo's attention when she leaps out of her cage unexpectedly by plonking a bag full of alfalfa hay down on the ground. The siren call of leafy alfalfa will keep her little butt away from Naomi's cage long enough for us to wrangle her back into her own cage for bedtime!

Seriously, she fur missile-d herself at my face last night and it was all I could do to catch her before my ass hit the ground. Like, dude, I will bring the hay to you; you don't need to launch yourself at it!

So much chinning!

My Mr. Giraffe!

No, he's my Mr. Giraffe!

I love how this gives you an idea of the size difference between Apollo and Naomi.

All tuckered out!

It's been a long week for baby Apollo and she's looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend!

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend! Stay safe out there and we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on Monday.
