A week in a day.

Okay, here's the deal--Bunnies and Sunshine is located in an area about to be hit by a hurricane and the helpful folks at our local power company have decided that their disaster plan will start and end with telling us that we'll be without power for an extended period of time.  That's comforting.  So, in order to keep you supplied with bunny cuteness, I've decided to hurry up and create all of my posts for this week and get them to you before we lose power.  So, enjoy and I'll try to reply to any comments just as soon as I'm able.  There are 5 posts after this one, for those who are counting.

Here's hoping it'll only be out for a week!  If it's more than that [cringe], I'll be back just as soon as I can upload photos again.  Please just keep checking back.  Take care and have a great week and we'll be back when we can!

The bunnies discover a pumpkin!

Simon seems to like his first pumpkin!  He looks like he's wondering what the green part on top is for.

River is pretty happy with discovering that the pumpkin is edible.  Check out my next post to see what I did with the pumpkin!

Ha!  Give you treats?!  Nice trick.  Now, the way this works is that you give us treats.

I was all sorts of proud that this turned out after eight and a half hours of carving.  I haven't carved a pumpkin since I was 9 years old (pretty sure I got it all out of my system here).  I didn't have any proper carving tools, so I made do with an exacto-knife, a paring knife, a calligraphy nib, a spoon and some tips you use to pipe icing with (because they were sharp and metal).  I also found out the hard way that candles don't really work to light up a pumpkin if you don't do a cut-through.  Ben was kind enough to suggest using a light bulb from a table lamp, which is what you see sticking out of the pumpkin here (he was holding it in place so I could snap a pic of it).

No, Simon don't move on my account!  I'm perfectly comfortable laying like this.  Um, do you know where my legs are?

All Simon wanted was to hop over to the loveseat.  Sadly, the way was shut and he could not pass.  River's curiosity is a powerful thing.

Is it lucky?

Apparently, they both find Simon's foot fascinating.  Perhaps they're trying to figure out why we humans consider them lucky.  With these two great minds on the case, we'll have an answer in no time!
