From the looks of it, Apollo is so lively, he didn't even notice he had a tick on him! I know they're saying this tick season is the worst one yet, I hope everything goes well with the vet!
Hi Mónica! Lol--it really is! It is taking some getting used to having a bun with completely dark tail when you're used to seeing a white or cream deer flag/cotton ball tail as they zoom around the room. Baby Apollo has stealth zoomie tail! XD
Hi Tarosagi! Apollo really can cover some ground given how little he is!
I know, right?! It really was dumb luck that I noticed something on his ear and when it didn't budge when I brushed at it, I had that "Oh, NO!" realization. Thankfully he's still eating well and has started holding the tick-bitten ear up again like normal and still does his baby bunny shenanigans!
I managed to get a vet appointment for him for tomorrow at 11am after 2 hours of calling different vets that weren't already on my short list in a 2 hour driving distance and trying to make appointments online. So many vet offices don't keep their websites updated to reflect that they no longer have an exotics vet, will not accept new exotic patients for ____ reason, or are fully booked and can't see you for over a week. There is no reason why finding an exotics vet should be that much of a challenge.
On a positive note, they said to bring the tick's body in with me and they can test it for any diseases it may have carried! I reached out to a cottontail rabbit rehabber, who has much more tick experience than anyone I know and she gave me the brand of a flea and tick spray that is rabbit safe that she uses on her intake babies and to keep her own house buns safe. It will arrive tomorrow so we can kill anything we can't see in carpet, upholstery, and apply a couple sprays to a cotton ball and wipe Apollo and Naomi's bodies (not their heads) down with it so it'll kill anything on them. Slowly starting to hope for peace of mind again and not be paranoid of any slight itch or tickle!

His tail is so pointy it looks like a spear! He is a mighty warrior!
Wow, look at Apollo's majestic gallop! If he's as speedy as you say, then Apollo and Naomi are going to be racing across the floor everywhere!
