Simon is fretting about River exploring in the kitchen--the one place where he can't go due to the slippery floor. He just hovers at the end of the carpet and paces back and forth until River realizes he isn't with her and hops back to him. Simon usually acts a bit sulky with an oblivious River and gives her this look as if to say, "Took you long enough!"
All that constant vigilance has taken its toll and Simon is in the process of recharging. River is still trying to work out how to open our bedroom door. She's also wondering why Simon doesn't find the kitchen nearly as interesting as she does (there are sooo many doors in the kitchen and who knows what's behind them). Simon is probably just happy that River is where he can see her without getting up. A big brother's job is never done.
