Thankfully, a night of me sleeping on the couch to monitor her, lots of force feeding, pro-biotics (Bene-Bac plus), pain meds, and a couple of doses of metoclopramide (a gut motility drug) later, the little munchkin is finally eating on her own and going to the litter box again! I'm so glad I had kept Simon's leftover medicine in the 'fridge because it was a definite life saver here.

Got alfalfa?
River gave us quite a scare Wednesday evening. After a couple bad days of seizure activity where she couldn't/wouldn't eat much (and I can't safely force-feed much for fear of her aspirating it), her gut bacteria went out of whack causing GI distress and we thought we may lose her. She earned her Lazarus Bun nickname by eating and drinking on her own around midnight. After some probiotics, her bunny tummy is happy again and she has a good appetite. She's our little fighter! πΏπ

Gave us a scare!
This is her an hour later once the meds kicked in and shortly after binkying around the living room. She ignored the offered blueberry (letting Mr. Giraffe guard it from Simon), but scarfed down a cranberry along with some oats and a few pellets. Not sure what the issue was, but we'll keep an eye on her. Could be that elder buns are a bit more sensitive to temperature increases (it was about 76 F indoors).
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend! Stay safe out there and we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on Monday.
