We were blind-sided by this because he had been improving, but it seems that the strain was too much for his little heart to handle. We are giving River twice the love now. This pic is the last I have of them together.
I'm going to take a break from posting for a little bit. I have a Christmas post that I'll put up and I'll post about River interspersed with some pics I have of both of the little munchkins going forward. I just need a bit of time.

I am sorry, very sorry for your loss, I can't imagine what you and your family and Riverbun are feeling and going through, but I too am saddened by the news of Simon going to the moon. (In Japanese and east asian folklore, bunnies are said to come from the moon, and return there when their job here on Earth is done) I am thankful I got to read about the adventures of Simonbun, I will miss that little bumblebee. Godspeed, onto where your next adventure takes you Simon!
Take all the time you need. My condolences.
I am very sorry for your loss. Simon was a very lucky bun. He lived a long life, and he got to spend all of it with his sister because you were willing to adopt a deaf bunny. Though they had quite different personalities, they clearly loved each other, and being with each other made every day special for them. And of course they got to spend their days with you as well, the best bun mom in the whole wide world. Simon went on many adventures, far more than most buns, and he even ran for president! You gave him a great life. There was nothing Simon would have changed about it. In the end, Simon did not leave us. He merely finished his list of adventures, and finally decided it was time to rest. The last item on his list was to spend one more birthday with his family, and with that checked off he had no regrets. It was a list that he was only able to finish because of you. Though Simon may not have understood what a human is, or what the crazy noises like "no" and "stop" that you made with your mouth meant when he got a bit mischievous, he loved you with all of his being.
And thank you for sharing Simon with the world. I sincerely mean it when I say that there were many days over these last several years where getting on at midnight to see what the buns were up to was the best part of my day. They never failed to make me happy no matter what was going on in my life. I love those little buns, and I'm sorry if this message is a bit of a mess. I wrote it in between shedding many tears for Simon. Thank you for sharing your buns with the world, and thank you Simon for being you. Sweet, beautiful, wonderful you. You made the world a better place. May you rest in peace.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing the photos and stories over the years. I really love seeing them on my blog feed every day.
So sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing Simon and River both. I never commented much, but I have been following the frolics of your two bunnies for years. I start each day checking in on your bunnies and I am so sad even though I have never met any of you. I will miss seeing his fuzzy little face. Your buns are one of my favorite parts of the internet. My husband and I both read your blog and we often talk about what they might be up to. Again, I am so sorry. Give River hugs from all of us.
I am terribly sorry for your loss, these are devastating news. Simon was a bun so full of kindness and love it's hard to believe he won't be there anymore. My heart breaks for you humans and specially for his little sister, River, I hope you three are doing okay and take all the time you need to recover. I am so grateful that you decided to share this pics and videos with us, because when I first found about you I was dealing with the premature death of my own bunny and this blog helped me move fowards and recover. Every day since then, watching their antics became an awesome way to start the day. You did an amazing job taking care of Simon Bun and I'm sure there hasn't been a single day where he hasn't felt loved and cherised by you all. I hope that wherever he is now, he is binkying happily and munching on treats. Rest in peace, you beautiful bunblebee.
Thank you for everything little spud, binky free.
Thoughts and prayers with all of you. Take care.
I am so so sorry for your loss. I have been following the bunnies for more than eight years. Simon and River have been my ray of Sunshine on many many very tough days. Simon will be missed and remember fondly. Please give River extra love for us and please take care of yourself!
We are so sorry for the loss. Heart broken by the sad news. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
