My little quilting helpers!

Amos and Naomi have done a great job of taking over the 'quilt helper' role from Simon and River.  I'm sure Mom would've tried to feed Amos and Naomi a handful of grapes too if she had gotten to meet them!

Finally got the embroidery inside the hearts completed and the blocks hand sewn together.  Now comes a colorful border of Mom's clothing that will have various sea shells embroidered onto them!

Dad sent me Mom's clothing when he was ready and I started deconstructing them February 2, 2022.  This is the longest continuous art project and first quilt I've ever done.

Oh congratulations, that quilt looks amazing! Your mom would be so proud, I'm sure of that. It's beautiful and it's even more beautiful to see the fruits of your hard labor turn out so great.

Wow what a beautiful quilt, I love all the detail on the patchwork hearts and the detail on the sea life and birds! I can't wait to see the finished quilt!

I'm glad that Amos and Naomi took up the family business owned up to being great quilt helpers!

Hi Mónica!
Aww, thank you! I've definitely learned a lot so far (surface area is no joke--each of the sea weed appliqué pieces took 32 feet of thread to encase the edges).

Hi Tarosagi!
Aww, thanks! I can hardly believe the center part is finally done. I'm working on getting all 40 of the border embroidery designs traced out so I can get them transferred to the fabric (have to use graphite paper and stipple through the tracing paper, which destroys the paper). I will definitely post progress pics!
Amos and Naomi are great at encouragement, though they're still a bit too baby bun 'mouthy' to trust being too close to the quilt just yet. ;)

Isn't it great to see a vision come to life? What a lovely job and a nice memorial to your Mom. Nice to see the team effort with Amo and Naomi. Well done!

Hi Anna!
It really is and has been a long time in coming, so it's good that I have my little helpers to keep me on track! Aww, thank you! :)
