Our thoughts are with you.

Our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the little ones and adults who lost their lives in the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.  We wish the injured a full and quick recovery and want to thank the first responders and everyone who helped others in their time of greatest need.

That's just horrible. Those poor children and teachers. I can't even imagine the anguish those parents must be feeling. I just hope none of you have to live through that anymore.

It's a terrible tragedy, I can't even process what it would be like to be in a situation like that, I don't know what I would do if I lost someone like that. But I hope that the victims and their families are somehow able to find some semblance of solace.

Hi Mónica and Tarosagi,

I agree with you both. I honestly can't imagine what those families or anyone on the scene who had to triage a school full of little kids are going through right now. We can't change what happened, but we can make changes to prevent something like this from ever happening again. We owe the lost that much.

I truly hope that my fellow countrymen don't let gun manufacturers, gun lobbyists, their politicians and media outlets pull their usual tactics of saying 'this isn't the time for talking about gun violence' or try to spin people's desire for stricter gun laws (age, accessibility, prior domestic violence charges, etc.)/requirements for gun training/need for increased mental health availability/screenings/de-stigmatizing as 'making this tragedy political' while at the same time fearmonger to increase gun sales.

There's a massive problem when there are so many shootings/mass shootings happening that you can't even keep them straight anymore or you see people start to become numb to them.

This is not an insurmountable problem, but it will take a great deal of effort, consistency, and funding to solve.
