This was taken 2 days after we brought the little munchkins home in March of 2012. Simon had spotted the baggie of pellets that was sent home with them and tried his hardest to reach them. It was our first glimpse at how highly food-motivated the little fella was!

Simon was absolutely food motivated from the start, even though it was only his second day in a strange new place he was immediately able to find where the food was. And once he knew that it was left on the table I'm sure he began to practice his jumps so he could get up there, and then I'm sure the food was moved to a safer, higher place!
I remember that video, Simon was so scared and ready to protect his little sister... But looks like the easiest way to a bun's heart is through their stomach, and he even looks guilty doing this shenanigan!

I still can't believe how tiny they were when we brought them home!
Yup, I even think that the pellets started out sitting outside their cage, then it moved to the coffee table when he discovered them. His searching for pellets eventually led to them being safely hidden in the coffee can. XD

Oh, I've got a pic of River looking into the carrier at Simon, who wouldn't budge from his sanctuary! I'll have to post it next week for you guys. That little fella loved to eat, that's for sure...well, everything except cabbage, which got tossed directly into the litter box! :)
