Big human does not have River's permission to leave on his work trip today.  No permission slip, no field trip--those are the rules!

River's reaction to finding out that big human has to go on another trip for work.

Bunny logic:  You can't leave the house if you don't have shoes.

Counting down the hours.

River:  Big human's coming home today!  Aren't you excited?!

Simon:  ...

River:  Oookay, touchy subject--moving on!  Are you going to come out and play or you just gonna sit there and sulk?

Simon:  Since the big human's away, I guess that makes me the man of the house!  I wonder, does this position gets paid in extra treats?

River:  "I GuEsS tHaT mAkEs Me ThE mAn Of ThE hOuSe!"  Psh!  When big human gets home, I'm telling him that you tried to usurp his position.

Where is he?!

Big human had to fly across country for work this morning.  When River woke up, the luggage and his shoes were gone.

She kept searching for the missing shoes (and her favorite human) in between thumping, staring at the door, staring at me, then back to the spot where the missing shoes should be.  I think she assumes I did something to make him go because I didn't help her form a search party.

[sigh]  Not quite sure how I'm going to communicate to her that he's coming back on Friday.
