Simon ended up using River as a speed bump on his road to the other side of the couch.
River, having had just about enough of Simon's shenanigans for one evening, hopped down from the couch, turned and stared at him then hopped away. She proceeded to ignore him for the foreseeable future.
Simon tried to interact with his sister only to be thoroughly ignored. This is his 'I screwed up!' face.
No worries, River eventually forgave him and all was right with the world.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend! We'll be back on Monday.

Simon is in seclusion.
Simon doesn't always sulk in the Coke box, but when he does...
It's because he's tired of being brushed when he's shedding.

Useful bunny trick!
I've been teaching Simon and River to stand up on command. This is the first time I've done it outside of their cages and taking pictures at the same time.
I do a hand signal (a plucking upwards motion) followed by saying, "stand up pretty" (for Simon's benefit) followed by a reward treat of oats. They both caught on pretty quickly...
Though Simon has a tendency to be a bit over-enthusiastic sometimes!
This trick is useful because:
1. It lets you see all of their feet at the same time so you can tell when their nails need trimmed.
2. It also gives you a good look at them if you notice them landing wrong while playing to check if they've injured a back foot (they'd be reluctant to place weight on it) or pulled something in their back (would be unable to do the trick at all).
3. You can use this as an overall injury check if you notice your bunnies fighting (lets you see scratches you might not otherwise see on their underside).

Nope, changed my mind!
Simon got half way under the cage door then decided to awkwardly go in reverse rather than just keep crawling forward. He is not good at hopping backwards.
What?!
Simon does not understand why his solution to the problem is a source of amusement.
You may be wondering why there's a fly swatter on top of the cage. That, my friends, is our patented spider-killing device. River won't leave her cage if she spots one (perfectly understandable) and acts as my advanced warning system when her "spidey-senses are tingling". Spring is hard on arachnophobes.

Nature is scary.
Poor Simon was frightened by the sound of thunder and little River (being deaf) has no idea what's wrong, but started snuggling and giving bunny kisses to try and comfort him. She's a good little sister.

Yin and Yang.
Sometimes the bunnies have opposing views as to what constitutes a fun time.
If you're wondering what that thing in the center of the picture is, I'd like to introduce you to my bunny fur containment system. That is the amount of fur I've plucked/brushed off the both of them in the past week. Better in the bag than in their tummies causing problems or all over the house. Heavy sheds are no joke.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend! We'll be back on Monday.

Closing time!
Go drunk, Simon, you're home!
I've gotta say that the expressions on their faces made me giggle for a solid 15 seconds, so I had to post this. Simon is all squinty and apologetic looking while River has this overly earnest face (I strongly suspect she is drunk too). Good thing their cages are within hopping distance.

Bunnies and Sunshine turns two!
I initially had grand plans for both Simon and River to be in the bag wearing their bows, the bunnies had different plans...
At first, they decided to be polite and take turns being inside the bag...
Then came the shoving match as to who took up the most space in the bag...
Promptly followed by them telling me in the clearest way possible that they refused to be "bunny wrangled". Oh well, bunnies will be bunnies!
Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed our blog enough to keep visiting! I'm constantly amazed at the number of people from around the globe that we've been able to share Simon and River with (and help brighten their day just a bit). On to a new year of bunny cuteness!

Challenge accepted!
I see your puppy-dog eyes and raise you two sad bunny faces!
This is the look Simon and River give me when they can't understand why I'm still playing with the flashy-thing instead of rubbing their tummies. Don't worry--tummy rubs were given and bunny happiness was achieved (if their purring was anything to go by).

A rolling bunny derp!
Simon really outdid himself this time by showing an epic amount of bunny tongue during his roll-over.
It must take a lot of concentration to look both cute and goofy at the same time.

A job well done.
Simon has a cartoonish bunny smile of satisfaction after remodeling their bunny fort.
Poor little guy has some interesting fur patterns due to going through a heavy shed right now.

Divide and conquer.
This photo really does highlight Simon and River's tag-teaming abilities. I managed to capture them both in frame while standing on the stair landing between the first and second floors. They know I'm the only human here at the moment and have made excellent use of their superior numbers. Now, which bunny to go after first?

Simon's Fortress of Solitude.
Little did Simon realize that his strict 'NO girls allowed!' policy in the bunny fort would result in...
A stint in his very own Fortress of Solitude. River is observing his time-out punishment like a person would animals in a zoo. Oh well, at least he learned not to be mean to his sister.

An ounce of prevention...
River is wearing a tin-foil hat to keep "human stupidity" from getting into her brain.

Bunnies being helpful.
Simon and River's contribution to spring cleaning!
River made sure that the paper towel roll wasn't going anywhere while Simon had to decide whether to hold down the plastic bag or nose-bonk the glass cleaner over.
He eventually managed to do both. River managed to fall over backwards taking the paper towels with her (she was okay). She also wouldn't leave them alone after discovering that she could unroll them.

Tequila Bunrise.
Dos bunnies are well into their Cinco de Mayo revelry and have moved on to doing tequila shots.
I think they're going to learn a valuable lesson about never regretting the drink you didn't have.
We hope you all have a happy and safe Cinco de Mayo!

Rainbow bunny snuggle!

These are all mine!
Simon is guarding his toy horde like a fuzzy little dragon. He moved all of his toys into the corner and is sitting on some of them. Apparently, someone doesn't want to share!
