So soft!

Simon is fluffing up his pillow before taking a nap.

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend!  Stay safe out there and we'll be back with more bunny cuteness on Monday.

A bun of many talents.

River may not be good at gaining weight quickly, but she's cute and is really good at making a mess!  Our little featherweight now clocks in at 2.518 pounds and I can no longer feel her spine when I pet her.  🎉

Where's your helmet?!

The best part of couch zoomies is the crash into the armrest.  Little dude kept ping-pong crashing into opposite sides of the couch.  By the looks of it, this was the funnest game ever invented.

'Sup?

Feet crossed, fluffy bunny tookus up in the air, paper towel roll as a pillow and slowly munching a ridiculously huge piece of hay that is wrapped around his face.  Somebun's having a good morning!

You matter.

With all of the extra attention River has gotten during her recovery, it's important for Simon to know that he's appreciated.  Lots of bunny kisses go a long way towards that end.

Pack your bags, we're goin' on a guilt trip!

Oh, no--Don't mind me!  Keep feeding River candy and all of the yummy things by hand to see what it is she's decided she'll eat today.  I'll just wait over here for some attention and food whenever you get a minute.
This is the reason why Simon is going to become spherical.  I end up giving him a little bit of greens or whatever it is I'm giving River so he doesn't feel like I'm playing favorites.
I'm being played like a fiddle over here!

Spinach with a side of rabbitude.

River:  I'm not picky, you're picky.
Simon:  I love spinach!!!

I'm happy to report that River has gained back 4 ounces!  Only 7 more to go before she's back to where we want her.

I want some.

Though I'm sure Simon is old enough in bunny years, beer is not for bunnies!  The little dude was intrigued by the mocha stout and kept trying to stick his head in my glass.

Gotta be sneaky!

I discovered that anything I put on top of the pellet container is considered a treat.  Needless to say, I am milking this discovery for all it's worth!

Yay--Eat the food!

Honestly, I don't care that she's messily eating a scoop full of oats, just so long as she's eating something on her own.

We think River had another mini-stroke in late June because she seemed to forget how to eat by herself.  She would show interest in food, but didn't seem to be able to pick one item out and manipulate it into her mouth or figure out what came next when she did (the food would just fall back out).  The last month has been a parade of force feedings every few hours and pain meds until just this past week.
She was deemed too frail for additional testing, so this was the best we could do for her since she is still showing an interest in life and still trying to interact with her surroundings.
She's a scrappy little munchkin and is ever so slowly gaining weight again!
Her diet varies by the day and whims of whatever she's currently hungry for, but basil, mint, spinach, parsley, salad mix, carrots, dried cranberry, oats, and chopped up pellets are her bunny buffet options.  So far, hay remains a difficult food for her to figure out how to eat, but we're optimistic that she'll get there.

A friendly reminder.

River:  Are we registered to vote?
Simon:  I'm not sure.
River:  We better check just to be on the safe side!
Simon:  While we're at it, we should request absentee ballots too because it's comfy here and I don't want to get up!

Simon and River just want to remind you to:
1.  Register to vote if you haven't yet.
2.  Check on your voter registration status to make sure it is active (voter roll purges can and do happen prior to elections).
3.  Check that your current address is correct on your driver's license/state ID and that it matches the one on your voter registration.
4.  Request a mail-in (absentee) ballot if you don't want to stand in line on election day or risk COVID-19 exposure.

Here is a link to find your state's election office, where you can do all of the above:  https://www.usa.gov/election-office

You'll want to do this as soon as possible because different states have different deadlines and requirements for absentee ballot requests.

**Set a reminder on your phone to check your voter registration status again a month or so prior to the elections just to be sure your voter status is still active and all of the info is correct.

Could go either way.

Not quite sure if Simon was looking for some alone time or if he got lost in a labyrinth of packing paper.

But, Ma...!

I don't want to have my room cleaned!  I just got it how I like it.  [sulking intensifies]
