Anything good on?

I wonder if imaginary bunny TV programs have better writing than the human ones do.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Nom-nom-nom!

I know Simon and River are shedding when they decide to drag a mouthful of hay outside one of their cages for a snack...
And the hay is so yummy that they decided to re-create a scene from Lady and the Tramp!

Sneaky little tickle monster.

River gives me her best innocent bunny face after sticking her head up my shirt sleeve.  Bunny whiskers should be classified as high-grade tickle weaponry.
At that point, I realized that I don't have as many pics of River on the blog due to her usually climbing all over me or sitting in my lap during their play time.  Kinda hard to get her picture when she's trying to nose-bonk the camera.

Bunny cage cleaning drama.

Simon is not happy about me cleaning his room.  He decided that the best way to show this would be to jump into the basket we keep the litter in and stare at me accusingly...
Me:  Come on, Simon, hop out of there.  I need to clean your cage.
Simon:  No.  You stole all of my toys.  I'm not moving!
Me:  Fine, just stay out of trouble. [proceeds to clean out litterbox]
Me:  Simon, pawing at the bag is not staying out of trouble.  Stop that!
Simon:  Don't care.  It's fun.  I'll stop when you stop messing with my cage.
Simon:  All my hard work...for nothing!  I'm going to annoy you as much as you have me.
Me:  Hop out, Simon, your cage is all clean now!
Simon:  No.  You made it smell bad and touched all my toys.  Tiger bun isn't moving!
Me:  Simon... [no-nonsense tone]
Simon:  Don't want to!  I like it in here.
Simon:  If I hop out, will I get oats?
Me:  Maybe.
Simon:  Okay!
Me:  Ack!!!  Not that way--you're kicking litter everywhere!
Simon:  Don't care, I'm getting oats!

Our little bargain hunters.

Apparently the search for low everyday prices is exhausting.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Oats are not an open action item.

Simon and River have a meeting of the minds to decide how they should go about getting more oats.  Cuteness has always worked in the past, but it never pays to become complacent.  Oats are at stake here!

Should I be afraid?

In over 10 years of having bunnies as pets, I've never had one smirk at me before.
This can't possibly end well.

The bunnies learn a new trick!

It's nice to know that they like the hurdle I made them enough to snuggle under it when they weren't learning to jump over it.
Here's the video of them learning to jump over stuff in all of their fluffy glory:

Lazy Bunday.

If there's anything bunnies are experts on, it's relaxation!  Hopefully this little bit of cuteness will help ease you into the work week.  If that doesn't do it for you...
Here's a pic of Simon being his charming little self.

Duck!

Simon shelters in place until the danger (that is River) passes.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

The old switcheroo.

Hey, Simon--you should come up here on the couch!  It's way more fun than being on the floor.
3 seconds later:
Simon hops up onto the couch while River runs over to the loveseat and hops down to the floor.
[sigh] Why do I always fall for that?!

I'm right behind you!

I caught Simon and River playing follow the leader around our living room.  It kinda looks like River was marching behind Simon with her little foot sticking out like that.

Everybun on the couch!

After seeing enough current events on the news for one day, Simon is using his sad bunny face to try and get me to change the channel.  Meanwhile, River is finding the back of the couch more entertaining than the TV.
If you're not going to change the channel, could you at least get closed-captioning?!  Honestly, the only news story I want to see is the one where the humans proclaim me and Simon rulers of the world and that our tribute of oats is on its way.

Simon's happy place.

Being smushed between his favorite things in the whole wide world--his little sister and the oat container.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a weekend that makes you as happy as Simon is right now.  We'll be back on Monday.

Access denied.

After noticing that River was a bit thinner than usual and that Simon was becoming a bit chubbier, it dawned on me to pay attention to where Simon was going when I first let him out of his cage after giving them breakfast.
I discovered that someone was being a sneaky little pellet thief and getting a second breakfast!
This forlorn look is his last-ditch attempt to guilt me into letting him have more pellets by acting as though he didn't just polish off an entire bowl of his own pellets and help himself to a half bowl of River's.  It's like he's saying, "Never mind the Timothy hay, human--that hardly counts as food!!!"
Happily, both of them are now back to their proper weight and Simon has developed a new appreciation for Timothy hay.

You're welcome.

River had a bout of early GI stasis that required me to give her aspirin and two doses of simethicone.  This is her disapproving bunny face.  It practically screams, "I can't believe you did that to me!"
"You aren't going to give me more medicine, are you?  I'm still trying to get the scent of human and wayward medicine off of me from last time!"
"If you do, I'll just put my paw up like this to block the medicine from getting into my mouth!"
She actually does this and it makes her look like a toddler with their hands covering their mouth.  She also tries to cover her head with her paws if the paw over the mouth tactic fails.
Clearly, the human doesn't realize that medicine tastes yucky.
She's feeling much better now and is back to her old self again.  She eventually hopped into my lap and forgave me for my rudeness of forcing her to take the icky tummy medicine and making her smell like human.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.
