Mood: Feeling snacky.

Simon interrupted his playtime to hop back in his cage and stare at the treat box.  When treats weren't immediately forthcoming, he made a show of snagging a long piece of hay and stared me down while slowly chewing on it.  The little fella has opinions!

Doing their own thing.

Well, I guess it's good to know that everyone is capable of amusing themselves.

River is running laps, Simon is either staging a sit-in protest over having to share the truck the other day or contemplating the nature of the universe, while Mr. Giraffe is pulling sentry duty and making sure no bunny shenanigans happen on his watch.

Vroomies!

River:  You can play with the truck when I finish this lap of the living room.

Simon:  But I want to play with it now! [sulking intensifies]

Clearly, the fun of the truck is inversely proportional to the number of trucks your sibling has.

Sweet old girl just wants to say 'hi'!

River is such a little sweetheart that I just had to share this!

She loves getting noogies after her nap and always wants to give a nose-bonk 'hello'. She's a little wobbly when she first wakes up, but she doesn't let that stop her! :)

The video has sound.

A bit awkward.

I had to keep the little munchkins separate while I was treating River for the ear infection just in case she had something contagious.  It took them a few minutes to fall back into their usual routine, but the snuggles were epic once they did!

Sugar rush!

Caught Simon doing his happy dance after I gave them a slice of banana.  River is still munching on hers, so she's on lock-down to avoid any banana theft.

The scent of clean.

Looks like Simon approves of our choice in laundry detergent!  The little dude seemed fairly offended by River's defiling of the play towels in her attempt to get back at me for the ear drops.

Confused little bun.

River:  Whatchu mean your hand's not made of noms?

Simon:  Told ya so!

Whenever I have to feed River by hand for a prolonged period of time (in this case just holding food steady for her or reminding her food exists), she starts thinking my hands are magic food dispensers.  I can't go near her without her snuffling every finger to make sure there isn't some tasty morsel for her to munch on!

An earnest question.

Do you have boops?  'Cuz I have snoots!

Caught Simon eagerly awaiting our morning ritual nose-boop greeting.

Plotting revenge.

River has come to the realization that if she pees on me while I force-feed or give medicine, I can just hop in the shower and wash all the clothes and towels.  She has decided that a more permanent pee receptacle must be located.

My little helper!

Simon was helping me clean up after giving River some apple-blueberry baby food.  The little fella is a very thorough spoon licker!

And before anyone gets skeeved-out by us letting bunnies lick our silverware, that spoon is a dedicated bunny spoon 'til the end of time.

A statement piece.

I couldn't help but notice some similarities between River's sculpture and The Great Wave.  Perhaps using critical care as her medium is a commentary on the inexorable forces she struggles against whenever she refuses solid food and requires force-feeding.

Bunny care tip:  You can form a critical care log using 10g critical care powder and 15g warm water.  It'll be solid enough to form into a wedge shape that's a bit easier for them to eat...unless they decide to stomp on it like River did to create her artwork.

I'm not talking to you!

Not only did I not give River one of big human's shoes while he's away (she got one of his socks as a security blanket), I force-fed her and gave her all sorts of yucky medicine today.

Poor little munchkin has an ear infection from cramming a dirty foot in her ear.

So, that's an elder bun problem they don't warn you about:  Excess cecotrope production no matter the diet.  If you miss/have bad timing cleaning up a single one and they inadvertently stand in it/get it under a nail, they can give themselves an ear infection.  We're talking multiple times a day cleaning these up, so just a friendly head's-up to start looking out for this as your bunny gets older!

King of the goof-balls!

I present to you Simon in all of his glory!

The fluffiest door stop.

Big human does not have River's permission to leave on his work trip today.  No permission slip, no field trip--those are the rules!
