Do I want to know?

It appears that I've stumbled into the midst of a bunny territorial dispute.  They've divided the living room up using the kleenex box as no-bun's land.  The look on River's face seems to sum up their feelings pretty well.

Hoppy Monday!

Somebunny's in a good mood!  Hopefully a bunny binky will help brighten your Monday a bit.

Shush!

It's nap time now.  Go to sleep!
River is a little chatterbox--she's always making weird little noises, hooting, chirping, clicking and purring.  Being deaf, she has no idea that bunnies are normally silent, but it just adds to her charm!
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Merry Christmas!

Simon and River discover that Antarctica has a rather unwelcoming immigration policy for non-penguins.
We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and for those who don't celebrate this particular holiday, we hope you have a very happy Thursday!

Which one is it?!

Simon realizes that all the times he's squabbled with his sister would classify him as "naughty" by Santa's gift-giving standards, but he's also been "nice" by following commands, grooming his sister and not making messes.
The uncertainty about Santa's list-making rubric has him slightly horrified that he didn't keep a tally of his actions so he could be extra nice to balance things out and guarantee presents under the tree.
I tried to reassure him, but he's set on fretting until he sees a present with his name on it.

Me too!

River isn't bashful when it comes to asking demanding to be groomed.  I'm a bit surprised that she didn't roll Simon over in her quest for attention.

The breakfast of champions.

River couldn't wait for me to finish preparing their birthday breakfast and felt the need to inspect my progress by hopping onto the coffee table.  I'll let it slide just this once (and she's only standing on the paper towel, so there's that).
They're eating like people!
I should also note that Simon sitting on my lap is unheard of--the most he usually does is put his front paws up.  Apparently, oat covered banana slices are powerful motivation.
In a complete role reversal, River decided to forgo basic table manners and stuffed the entire banana oat concoction into her mouth and proceeded to sloppily eat it on my lap while Simon was content to daintily eat like a human (showing proper etiquette by keeping his elbows off of the table).
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Birthday buns!

Simon and River are partying it up for their 3rd Birthday.  They're helping themselves to some oat confetti to celebrate!

Couch tag!

Well, their game started on the couch, then it proceeded to extend to the rest of the living room until I was tagged/pounced on by River.  I didn't even know I was playing!

Is it Monday already?

I think Simon is trying to play dead to get out of work and his dead bunny flop is so convincing that River is checking to see if he's okay.

Friday, December 12, 2014

Happy Friday!

I made you some cinnamon buns.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

I knew this day would come.

Simon and River have perfected their "innocent bunny" faces!  Phase one of their plan for world domination is complete.  I have yet to determine if they are ahead or behind schedule.

Creative use of leftovers.

Here's a pic of bunnies with cookies on their heads.
River has had enough of Thanksgiving leftovers while Simon is considering seconds.
Thank you all so much for visiting the blog--this week we passed 300,000 all time page views!  We hope you have a great weekend and we'll be back on Monday.

Should've named him Hoover.

No job is too small for our little picker-upper!  Here he is vacuuming the rug of any and all bits of oats, pellets and hay that River has unceremoniously dumped onto the floor.
His tireless attention to detail ensures a thorough cleaning every time!
Honestly, we do feed him--it's just that we're pretty sure the little guy would eat until he popped if left to his own devices.  That's our loveable little Simon bun (or you can think of him as a fluffy black hole with ears)!

Big flop for a little bunny!

I caught River mid-flop.  Her reflection in the mirror cracks me up with the little paws and bunny mouth!

Best bunny game ever!

It's called 'Distract the Human While They're Cleaning'.
Near as we can figure, points are awarded thusly:
1 point:
Making the human use one hand to scoot the bunny away from what they're doing.
Forcing the human to move an item of interest out of reach of the bunny.
5 points:
Fully stopping the human from what they're doing.  This can be accomplished in any manner of the game player's choosing, such as:
Forcing the human to use both hands to scoot/pick up the bunny.
Knocking over/stealing/eating the human's cleaning supplies.
Engaging in any action that causes the human to run to/chase after the bunny (exploring an off-limits area/picking an intentional fight with another bunny/attempting to destroy a belonging of the human in question).
10 points (instant win):
Creating an even greater mess for the human to clean up, such as:
Climbing into the hay bag and scattering its contents across the living room floor.
Jumping into the litter box as the human attempts to place it in the cage, scattering litter everywhere.
Biting a hole into the trash bag used for disposing of funkified litter.
**Note:  Extra points may be awarded for creativity, sheer audacity and/or amount of havoc wreaked upon the human or surrounding area.

The food coma.

River:  Ugh!  I'm so full I couldn't eat another bite.
Simon:  Why do we do this to ourselves?!
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Hoppy Thanksgiving!

I can make an educated guess as to what Simon and River are thankful for:  Mr. Turkey's declined portion of celery!
Oh, and before anyone gets upset--it's amazing what you can create with a bit of cardboard, black construction paper and a whole lot of scotch tape.
We hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and for those visiting the blog from other countries, we hope you have a happy Thursday!

The dangers of a low-speed bunny flop.

At this point, I'm not really sure whether Simon is doing the roll overs on purpose or completely by accident.
Here's a video I took of Simon yesterday in all of his rolling fluffy glory:
Their antics make the script practically write itself.

Why we can't have nice things.

We like the big human's half marathon finisher blanket because it's blue.
Simon:  I was totally not just digging and nipping at the blanket...honest!
River:  Yes he was.
Simon:  Shush!  Little human's gonna take it away now and I'm not done marking it as mine.
River:  Don't try to nudge me off the couch.  You're being mean!  It's both of ours.
River:  Guess it's my blanket now because you can't climb up here!
Simon:  Tattletale!  I had plans for that blanket.

I'll save you!

River attempts to free the mirror bunny.  It's a good thing that she's easily distracted because that could've ended poorly.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Super happy little buns!

I managed to pull a still from the video (sorry for the poor quality).  Simon's ears had me cracking up and they both look like they're gravity-defying hover buns, so I thought it would give you a chuckle.
Simon and River were binkying it up today!  Two double binkies must mean that their bunny happiness level was off the charts.

Bunny pillow.

Literally.  I wonder who is more comfortable using the other as a pillow.  River's head looks nice and fluffy but Simon's foot is perfectly chin-sized.  Either way, they both had a nice nap and in the end, that's what really matters.

Bunny communication.

This is River's way of telling me she would like more pellets and oats.  She's so little that she has to stretch a bit to grab the scoop.  I just thought it was a cute pic of her, so I had to share!

Monday, November 17, 2014

Fascinating!

Sometimes I think humans and bunnies see very different things when looking at the exact same object.  For some reason, the loveseat arm had their undivided attention.
Then again, if someone sneaked up on me and snagged my glasses, I'd probably be staring at it like that too.

Deep in thought.

Simon ponders the most effective method of getting bunny hork on the mirror.  He's off to a good start, but knows that if he plans to coat the entire mirror, he must find a better way!
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday (hopefully with a mirror that will stay clean for longer than 5 minutes).

Is it Friday yet?

Uncontrolled cuteness just saps the energy right out of you!
Simon and River are hoping that if they look tired enough, I'll give them some oats and banana to help power them through the rest of the week.

Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Always curious.

River is still trying to figure out how she can open doors by herself.  Rest assured, she's hard at work on this minor setback to bunny world domination.  Better get your tribute of oats and banana slices ready because it's only a matter of time!

Practice makes perfect!

So much derp and goofiness for such a tiny bunny!  Simon really is a sight to behold sometimes.

Purple towel peek-a-boo!

I had to take a still because what Simon did was just too cute not to.
I think that the purple towel will remain the coolest toy ever due to its versatility in Simon and River's adventures.

Snuggle bunnies.

Simon and River have melted into a heart-shaped bunny puddle.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Hoppy Halloween!

Overall, I'd have to say that Simon and River tolerated their first real costumes pretty well.  Giving them both a hay cube probably helped.
See, they really were under there (for a grand total of 20 seconds):

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a safe and Happy Halloween as well as an awesome weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.
