Impatient little bun!

Simon J. Bun, the pellet container is NOT self-serve!

You can practically hear River's taunt, 🎵 "You got in trouble!" 🎶

A nose for trouble.

I'm glad she's eating again, but the #1 question on River's mind is, "What is this and can I eat it?"  No, computer cables and their Velcro wraps are not edible.

Foood!

After the butt bath fiasco, poor little Simon bun is not really loving the slightly decreased pellet ration needed to get him to eat more hay.  According to him, hay ≠ food.
It's a good thing that he doesn't have thumbs, otherwise he'd be breaking into River's cage to steal her pellets.

A bunny bamboozle.

Simon wonders what black magic is causing the oats to be so close and yet he can't taste them.  Meanwhile, River is concerned that Simon's antics will impact breakfast time.

Bun appétit!

Simon is hoovering up some home grown parsley brought back from our road trip.  River looks like she's saying, "Hey!  You're going to share that with me, right?"
Impatient after having to wait a whole 5 seconds to be served, River attempts to stuff the entire bunch of parsley in her mouth at once.  I think it's safe to say that both of them give their compliments to the chef!

The great communicator.

This is how River lets me know it's time for breakfast.  After this, she'll look at me then at the pellet container and back at me to make sure I understand what she is saying.  If I don't move quickly enough, she'll start nibbling on the lid of the container while staring me down as if saying, "Fine, I'll get it myself!"

Mopey bun.

Well, I guess I'll just use this perfectly empty food dish as a pillow.  You know what would make it softer?  Pellets.
Simon attempts to gaslight me into thinking I haven't already fed him today.

Our mighty hunter.

Simon demonstrates how to stealthily sneak up on unsuspecting herds of romaine lettuce.
After an exhausting 5 seconds of his imaginary safari, he decided to call it quits and eat his camouflage.

Pellets!

This is how the bunnies let me know it's time for breakfast.

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back with more bunny cuteness on Monday.

Should've named him Hoover.

No job is too small for our little picker-upper!  Here he is vacuuming the rug of any and all bits of oats, pellets and hay that River has unceremoniously dumped onto the floor.
His tireless attention to detail ensures a thorough cleaning every time!
Honestly, we do feed him--it's just that we're pretty sure the little guy would eat until he popped if left to his own devices.  That's our loveable little Simon bun (or you can think of him as a fluffy black hole with ears)!

Bunny communication.

This is River's way of telling me she would like more pellets and oats.  She's so little that she has to stretch a bit to grab the scoop.  I just thought it was a cute pic of her, so I had to share!

My dish is empty and I am sad.

Simon thinks that if he looks sad enough, I will give him a second breakfast.
Note that he's studiously ignoring the hay carnage strewn about his cage.  Clearly, only pellets count as food.  This is why he will never have a gravity pellet feeder--he would eat until he popped.
