Happy Thanksgiving!

I wonder if they want "world domination" gift-wrapped?
Clearly, Simon and River are a bit confused as to what holiday it actually is.  Then again, it's hard to blame them considering that Christmas ads have been out since before Halloween and they know that a turkey is somehow involved in Thanksgiving.

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving and an awesome weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

The bunnies make a new friend.

Initially, Simon was the only one willing to greet Mr. Turkey with a nose-bonk.  River was otherwise occupied.
But with a bit of gentle nudging, Simon was able to get River to stop playing with the garland long enough...
To make a proper introduction.
River and Mr. Turkey got along splendidly once they realized that their common ground was that they both enjoyed being groomed.  Here, Simon is cleaning River and River is cleaning Mr. Turkey.
And they all lived happily ever after!

Well, you caught me!

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
Catch a human by her toe.
If she hollers...
Well, I'm not gonna hear it.
I'm not sure why River felt the need to stand on my foot, but we were stuck like that for a few minutes.  I think she was trying to ransom me for oats.
I managed to secure my release with the promise of oats once we got downstairs.  Even with my assurances, she stopped me on the way down to make absolutely sure that I didn't have any oats on my person (as if I was holding out on her).  River is very serious about getting oats!

Oh, Simon...

Simon's spatial awareness is a bit lacking.  Here he is rolling over into River (at least he didn't get stuck on his back this time).  I'm always catching him doing something embarrassing.

The most dangerous game.

Simon has created a game that involves him running at top speed around the corner and coming to a screeching halt before he falls down the steps.  I think he wins the game by either stopping in time or giving me a heart attack.
This is why he can't be left to his own devices for even the shortest amount of time.
I've been unwittingly volunteered as the designated catcher and hugger for this special little sport.
I'm guessing that playing tag with River has lost some of its excitement and he's resorted to this.  I told him he needs to come up with a better (safer) game.  He just nose-bonked me, so I'm hoping that's a "yes".

Time to relax!

Simon's had a long week full of learning how to walk on slippery floors and how to not binky into his little sister.  Now, it's snuggle time!
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back with more bunny antics on Monday.

The perils of bunny happiness...

Simon was super happy to be on the couch and was binkying his way over to his sister...
And had a slight depth perception malfunction.

Go, Simon, go!

It was cute--I captured River trying to teach Simon how to walk on the linoleum floor.  She patiently kept walking back and forth across it, then would stop and look at Simon as if asking him to follow her.  It's like she's saying, "You can do it!"
For those just joining us, here's the link to an earlier post about Simon being afraid of walking on slippery floors:  The bane of Simon's existence.
Simon decided to approach this new flooring from a different angle thinking that it would be easier to walk on from this direction.  Here, River is making her way back to the carpet as Simon army crawls his way forward.
Well, this is as far as he was willing to go this time.
Simon also learned that you can't try to turn quickly on a slippery floor because it makes you do a belly flop followed by a cartoon-style running in place maneuver until traction is attained and forward momentum is achieved.
The little guy is getting brave here and is attempting his new skill on the kitchen floor.  Still a bit shaky, but this is the first time he's tried walking on this type of floor since we moved in.  Oh yeah, here's a video of his achievement...

Follow me!

We're done playing upstairs.  It's time to go downstairs now, little human.  Follow me!
Are you still following us?  Hurry up!
I decided to mess with them a bit and sat down on the second landing.  Simon is trying to push my leg down while River is trying to stick her head up my pant leg (not sure how she thinks that's going to help).
I let Simon push my one leg down and now River is pushing my other leg down with her chin.
Come on!  We need to go down these stairs now.
You know we need a chaperone wherever we go and you're it.  We want to go downstairs and play.  Now, please.
Whew!  Who knew that herding humans was so exhausting?!

Bunnies: Nature's clowns.

Music:  "Yakety Sax" by Boots Randolph
After watching some of Simon and River's antics, I just had to make a video to this music.  Hope you like it!
On that note, we hope you have a great weekend and we'll be back on Monday!

Time to clean!

I felt a bit bad about yesterday's less than flattering photo of River, so I hope this one is cute enough to make up for it.

Ah, brotherly love...

Simon gives River the bunny version of a wet willy.  I love how her little face is all scrunched up while she's trying to shake her head.  It's like she's saying, "Ewww, Simon!"
I'm thinking it's payback for the whole "capture the couch" incident earlier today.

Capture the couch!

River:  The couch is mine, Simon.  Give up now, or I'll take it by force!
Simon:  Oh yeah?  You and what army?
River:  I'd like to direct your attention to my two associates up on the ridge.
Simon:  Aww, no fair!  We didn't agree that we could have allies! [sigh] I'd like to open up diplomatic relations with the bunnies of the loveseat to discuss a truce.
Bunny war games are pretty much over with before they even start.

Boop!

I caught them in the middle of a nose-bonk after River raced up the stairs and Simon finally found where she went (I guess they were playing hide-and-seek).  The nose-bonk is a bunny version of saying hello.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Say "Bunny"!

Now that Simon and River have my husband right where they want him, it's time to re-negotiate their daily oat ration.  It's clear that they aren't above using cuteness as a weapon.  He may be in for some serious bunny kisses and nose-bonks if he doesn't meet their demands.

The bunnies do a trick!

Simon and River have been doing this trick for quite a while and this is the first time we've thought to catch it on video.  Simon follows my voice command, while River follows my hand signal.

Simon's great adventure.

Okay, I'll admit goofing up on this one because I removed the bottom basket in the shelf, allowing him access behind the entertainment center.  I was cleaning their cages when I noticed it was way too quiet for them not to be getting into trouble.  This is the sight that greeted me.
Simon and River inspect my makeshift bunny blockade.
Why am I not surprised that River was the first to breach my defenses?
River really is a bad influence on him.  He managed to sneak back there while I was relocating River.
Oh, access denied!
Simon kept boomeranging back to check and see if he could squeeze himself under the shelf or climb over the basket.  He was miffed about us humans not honoring the unspoken bunny rule that an area becomes theirs once they've stepped foot on it.

A bunny on a mission.

I'm not sure if River is trying to get Simon to follow her or if she's using him as a lookout.  Either way, she's fixing to do some sort of mischief!  Even her little ears are propellered out.
