Happy Halloween!

And they said that making a rabbit-themed version of
Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven couldn't be done!
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a very happy and safe Halloween!  Have a great weekend and we'll be back on Monday.
Also, here's a real bunny pic for you sans costumes since they've proven that they can't be trusted with them yet.  Maybe next year...

Simon takes a breather.

Simon figures that the landing is as good a place to flop as any.  The little guy tuckered himself out racing up and down the steps.

Let's not do that again.

Simon is having a moment of reflection after discovering that leaping up four stairs at a time was one step too far.  You can see the claw marks in the carpet of the step where he missed his goal--kinda reminds me of Wile E. Coyote in the Roadrunner cartoons.
Simon was uninjured, just a bit rattled.  A couple of noogies later and he was good as new.

Yawns are contagious.

Simon let off a massive yawn while River was watching...
Causing her to yawn so wide that her mouth is hidden by her ear.
Now, be honest...did you yawn while looking at this?  I did a couple of times while making this post.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

You'll appreciate it later.

This is the look that greeted me shortly after my husband and I clipped Simon and River's nails.  That is not happiness to see me.
Yep, I'm definitely not popular with these two this evening.

He did it again.

Just when Simon thought it was safe to attempt bunny flopping once more, he got stuck on his back again.
This time, he figured out how to swing his legs over to escape his self-imposed time-out.
Meanwhile, River seems to be wondering if Simon is a bit touched in the head to keep doing this to himself since she's never gotten stuck on her back performing a bunny flop.
Well, at least he wasn't traumatized by it this time.
(For those just joining us, here's the link to what I'm referencing in this post:  http://bunnies-and-sunshine.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-hidden-danger-of-flopping.html )

The look of bunny concentration.

Simon is thinking hard about how he and River can avoid Monday morning.  So far, he's drawing a blank.

Our first fan pic!

We have a fan!  That's so cool!
Clearly, Mofsa has great taste in blog material.  I love her hair, by the way!
This was my attempt to get them both into the same picture at the same time.  The level of difficulty could be likened to herding cats.  River developed an amazing ability to hit the scroll button while standing on the keyboard.
Thanks again for following the blog and we'll be back on Monday!

Whew! Crisis averted.

The bunnies ponder how close our country came to defaulting and how that would've affected their ability to get oats.  I think their consensus is:  That was too close for comfort.
Clearly, the bunny world domination schedule will need to be moved up substantially.  Sadly, they can no longer leave it as an "open action item" and that means they're going to have to work, which bunnies are loathe to do.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

The hidden danger of flopping.

Simon discovered how much fun it is to flop on the purple towel.
And it really was all fun and games until...
Simon discovered the perils of not having enough momentum.  He got stuck on his back like a little fuzzy turtle.  He tranced himself for a few seconds until gravity took over.
Sadly, being deaf, River didn't hear his cries for help and probably assumed that he had done that on purpose.  Gravity took over before I could get to him and nudge him to one side.  Poor little guy became a bit traumatized by that incident and hasn't flopped on the purple towel since.

Sleepy bunny confusion.

River managed to lick and nuzzle Simon into a blissed-out bunny coma and he just woke up.  He's sporting a sleepy "What's goin' on?!  What did I miss?" look.

Cloaking shield activated!

We've found that Simon blends entirely too well into both the couch and the beige carpet.  It may just be his super-power...well, that and fluffiness.

Someone's a sore loser.

Upon discovering that the Native Americans and Vikings had reached the New World first, Columbus decides to claim territory through the creative use of flags.
Happy Columbus Day!

Hop on Washington.

River thought that her sign may be considered a bit terse, so she asked me to place an addendum to today's post:
Dear Congresshumans,
It's been 10 days now since the government has been shut down due to your actions.  If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor.  I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this.  So, pretty please...with sugar on top.  Balance the f**king budget.
Sincerely,
River M. Bun
P.S.  Simon J. Bun Esq. agrees with me, but is too polite to say so.

Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Siblings.

River looks so comfortable right now.  Suddenly, an idea forms...
[flop]  There we go!
River:  Can you believe this?  He does this to me all the time!
Simon:  What?!
Simon:  [lick]  See, I'm grooming you!  You like being groomed.
River:  [sigh]
Simon:  Blarg!  You taste kinda gross, though.
River:  What's gross is your tongue sticking out like that.
River:  You're annoying sometimes, but I love you anyway.
Simon:  Good, because you're stuck with me.  Also, I'm not moving--this is comfy!

Bunny binky extravaganza!

Simon and River are doing their little bunny dance of joy.
Synchronized take-off and landing on this double binky.
Simon defying gravity.  I was standing when this was taken and even though I'm a staggering height of 5'1" (155cm for you metric folks reading this), he managed to binky to a height of my waist from a standing start--this pic was taken on his descent back to Earth.
Maybe the amount of bunny happiness correlates to binky height?  More data is needed to test this hypothesis.  I'll be happy to share my results with you after conducting this cute and fluffy research.

Cleaning waits for no bun.

Well, that looks safe.  This picture doesn't quite do River's precarious position justice--her little rear end is suspended over the edge of the step by just her tippy-toes.  Meanwhile, Simon is loving every minute of his impromptu bath.
Poor decision-making skills and lack of depth perception is why they can't be left to their own devices on the stairs.

Good try, though.

Simon attempts to hide from Monday morning.  Sadly, Monday found him anyway.

Bunny calisthenics.

Flop to the left...
Flop to the right...
And...
Back to center.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope that you have a nice relaxing weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

On the road again...

Yep, something is definitely up.  We've seen these blue cages before.
Last weekend we had a bit of a whirlwind road trip to visit family out of state.  I was surprised that they both found their respective travel cages and kept checking them out while we were getting everything else packed up.
We'd better get some last minute kissy-face in before we leave!
5 minutes into a 5.5 hour drive and I've already destroyed my travel cage.  Entertain me, human!
Are we there yet?
No?  Well, I guess I'll just clean then.
After our arrival, River wasted no time in trying to get them both into trouble.  Here, it looks like she's trying to convince a skeptical Simon into jumping the make-shift bunny containment area in my parents' home.
I think Simon was just humoring her request.  He gave me his guilty bunny face when I said his name in a warning tone.
River's "innocent" face.  Why I had no idea what Simon was doing just now...I was just playing with this toy dump truck here all along!
Many a toy was played with and bunny flops were abundant.
A good time was had by all!  Time to rest up for the long trip home.
A bit of bunny goofiness on the way home.  Simon discovers how to push the door open and nose-bonk River.
Freedom!  Oh, wait...I'm still in the car.
It was nice seeing everyone, but it's good to be back home.  I think River regrets not getting past the bunny containment area.  Well, there's always next time we visit.
