I love how Simon is all business in the front, party in the back.  River looks like she's contemplating how this will reflect on his annual performance review.

What you see here is a bunny standoff.  This happens when Simon and River both feel that the other isn't grooming them enough and decide to pin whatever body part of the offender is closest.  Standoffs can last several minutes, which is practically forever in their estimation of time.

River:  [sigh]

Simon:  Blarg!  You taste kinda gross, though.
River:  What's gross is your tongue sticking out like that.

River:  You're annoying sometimes, but I love you anyway.
Simon:  Good, because you're stuck with me.  Also, I'm not moving--this is comfy!

Simon has figured out the only sure-fire way to prevent River from getting into trouble.  I call it "bunny sitting" and he does it really well.  Simon has this "not on my watch" look about him.  River looks unamused at this turn of events and is probably plotting her escape and eventual hostile takeover of the living room.

Would you stay still?!

Simon takes his job as River's forehead washer very seriously.  She is getting clean whether she wants to or not!

Simon learns to improvise, adapt and overcome when cleaning River's fur.  She flopped down facing away from him (exhausted from a long week of bunny cuteness), so he decided to just drape himself over her to reach her forehead.

Okay, I laughed hard when I saw Simon just drape himself over River like this.  I was amazed that she was completely cool with wearing his butt as a hat for a span of about 5 minutes.  All I can guess is that she must've been so worn out from play time that she couldn't muster up the care to move.
