He did this on purpose.
He looked at me right in the eye before doing this knowing full well that I'd be taking his picture. Kind of like a little kid saying, "Mom, look-look-look!!!"
My husband and I don't know how so much derpiness could be contained in such a small bunny. We're pretty sure we've found Simon's super-power.

Fooled you!
I caught Simon rolling over. After correcting himself, he dramatically flopped on the towel and proceeded to stare at me.
Humph! Joke's on you, human--I totally meant to do that, so there. Pbbbt!
(It took me a minute to figure out why his mouth looked weird. He was mid-bunny sulk and sticking his tongue out at me.)

So much derp!
I think Simon got a double dose of derpiness in his genes. Here he is mid-flop with his tongue sticking out showing us how special he is. Our little Simon bun is a constant source of amusement!

Bunny tongue!
I'm not sure if Simon is blowing a raspberry at River or if this is his subtle way of telling her that she missed a spot while cleaning.

The look of bunny concentration.
Simon is thinking hard about how he and River can avoid Monday morning. So far, he's drawing a blank.

Siblings.
River looks so comfortable right now. Suddenly, an idea forms...
[flop] There we go!
River: Can you believe this? He does this to me all the time!
Simon: What?!
Simon: [lick] See, I'm grooming you! You like being groomed.
River: [sigh]
Simon: Blarg! You taste kinda gross, though.
River: What's gross is your tongue sticking out like that.
River: You're annoying sometimes, but I love you anyway.
Simon: Good, because you're stuck with me. Also, I'm not moving--this is comfy!

It's hard to argue that logic.
Simon: Well, you're a girl and have cooties--so, there! Pbbbt!
River: That's a mature response to me tearing down your Straw Rabbit in our debate.

Things to do in the entryway.
Here's Simon in all of his derpy glory. Judging by the bunny tongue, I suspect he has learned a valuable lesson as to why it's a bad idea to lick the corner baseboards before I've completely finished spring cleaning.
River looks like she's having a much better time than Simon if the full lop flop in front of the door is anything to go by. I think she's settling in for a nap.

Two bunny tongues for the price of one!
I guess bunnies make funny faces in mirrors too.
Simon wasn't even trying to lick the glass. He just was sitting there and stuck his tongue out at himself (or the bunny he thinks is trapped in the mirror--almost like he's saying, "This is my girl, not yours!"). River has this "Boys are so immature!" look, which as close to an eye roll as a bunny can get.
In any case, I laughed way too hard when I saw this and thought you guys might get a chuckle out of it too. Have a great weekend and we'll be back on Monday!

What did I do?!
It was the late pellets, wasn't it?
I get bunny butt from River and bunny tongue from Simon as they show their disapproval of my poor pellet punctuality.

Well, tell us what you really think.
This is Simon's reaction to my husband blocking his running around on the couch with a pillow. I laughed hard when I noticed the little guy's face...
That is a serious raspberry he's blowing at us!

I didn't ask for maid service!
Just when Simon got his room exactly the way he wanted it, the humans had to come and clean it. Like any teenager, Simon has boundary issues when it comes to his room. Somehow I get the feeling that he would put up a sign on his door saying 'Bunnies Only' or 'Humans Keep Out!' if he had access to writing implements. Why yes, that is his tongue sticking out and an eye roll. My husband had to deal with the bunny angst while I laughed and took pictures.

I'm conflicted.
Here's what was going through my mind as my evening unfolded:
1. Aw! River hopped in a bag for the first time...I should take a
picture of this.
2. Oh, she's sticking her tongue out--how cute!
3. I hope this picture comes out because I've never caught her
with her tongue out before.
4. Oh cool! The picture came out not blurry.
5. Wait a minute...what is that? Eeew! She's sitting in a lake of
her own pee!
6. How am I going to get her out of the bag without getting
bunny pee on myself or the carpet?
I learned that the short answer for #6 is: You can't.
I also learned that this photo pretty much sums up River's opinion of litter box training.
To sum up: River's cuteness quotient approaches zero as the amount of pee outside of her litter box increases. It's a good thing I love her anyway.
