A hoppin' New Year's Eve!

Simon and River are enjoying New Year's Eve like many around the world--with beer...
And maybe some hard liquor thrown in for good measure.  But what the bunnies would really like to show you is...
The dangers of hopping under the influence.  Remember boys and girls, hop sober or get pulled over!
Wishing you all a very happy and safe New Year!

It's all your fault!

I caught Simon staring down his toy dump truck as if it had committed some deep personal wrong to him.  Granted, he tripped over it earlier and caused it to lose its cargo, but still!  Our furry little drama queen.
**Hey guys, I'm going to change things up a bit and start scheduling my posts to go at midnight so you can see the post first thing in the morning (if you want).  The only time it should be a different time is when I post something with a video--YouTube is funny in that I can't set when the video will appear.
I'm also going to start posting Monday through Friday.  Five days of bunnies is better than four, right?

Our bunnies are oat junkies.

The bunnies took it upon themselves to strip the oat container of its label.  I think they figured that the picture of oats on it would taste like actual oats...
They discovered that the photo was but a poor imitation of oat yumminess.  River looks a bit derpy in this pic while Simon looks personally insulted by this oat trickery.
He decided to go directly to the source and attempt to eat the lid off of the oat container.  This resulted in the container being placed out of reach and a scolding that plastic isn't good for bunnies...
Not to be deterred, he decided to knock the oat scoop onto the ground and lick it clean of any possible oat residue that ever dreamed of being on there.
River decided this was a great idea!  Simon is patiently waiting for seconds.
The oat scoop, being thoroughly coated in bunny hork, has now taken on a reflective sheen.  River appears to be scolding me for not giving them actual oats when it was clear that they wanted some.  Simon just looks depressed that he didn't get a second chance to lick the oat scoop.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

A very bunny Christmas.

Simon and River find their presents under the tree on Christmas morning!  Hooray presents!!!
Trying to figure out how the tree works.  They were quite taken with the rotating tree and the changing fiber optic light display.
Aaand back to presents.  Simon had a few technical difficulties with his and ended up chasing his across the carpet.
(If you're curious what I gave them, I ended up splitting a toilet paper roll in half and stuffing a Timothy hay cube surrounded by Timothy hay into it.  It turned out to be a fun little toy/treat for them.)
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and an awesome December 25th if you don't happen to celebrate it!

A slight miscommunication.

Simon's holiday snacking has gotten a bit out of control and is now interfering with River's plans.  Well, at least he's enjoying himself!

The many uses of bunny ears.

We've learned from watching Simon and River that bunny ears can be used for more than just hearing.  Here, we have Simon using them to slow his rate of descent from a binky.
River is using her ears as a parachute in this pic.
They're used for balance while turning at a high rate of speed.
And last, but not least, bunny ears can be used as a built-in collision avoidance device.

Happy Monday!

Simon has that "What just happened?" look about him.
He's utterly shocked and amazed with the discovery that if he places all of his weight on one edge of his litter box, it will flip over on him and fling the contents everywhere.
I still get noogies though, right?
No.  Toilet buns don't get noogies.

Tea time for Simon.

To end the week on a funny note, I give you Simon happily chugging down some of the cold peppermint tea I had made to help with River's tummy troubles.  His little gulping noises always make me laugh!  That is a bunny who enjoys his tea!
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Birthday Bunnies!

Simon and River are two years old today!
Poor little River had a bit of a rough start to her birthday with some tummy issues, but after a dose of simethicone and some aspirin in cool mint tea, she was up and bouncing around like her old self.  Not sure what brought that on, but she's eating and going to the litter box again (part of the reason I waited to post this).
The irony of her having that type of an issue on her 2nd birthday wasn't lost on me.  Now, on with the pictures!
It's good to see that age hasn't diminished Simon's goofiness.
After getting River to eat a bit of hay and some oats, I felt safe giving them both their birthday breakfast.  I combined their favorite treat of oats with a banana.  Yep, I'm a bunny chef!
At this point, I heard Simon start buzzing while he was circling me working at the coffee table.  I think he wanted to kiss the cook.
The natives were getting restless.  They kept scenting the air once I peeled the banana and then they both tried to climb into my lap to see what I was making.
Birthday breakfast is served!  They wasted no time scarfing down the oat covered banana slice.  I was actually lucky to snap this picture.  A good time was had by all!

Action buns!

Our two little furry balls of energy!  They were playing tag at high speeds around our apartment.

Two happy little buns.

I finally caught Simon rolling over!  He actually seems happy about it too!
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend.  We'll be back on Monday.

A moment in the life of Simon.

Hey, cardboard can be scary sometimes!  Luckily, River was there to show him everything was all good.
P.S.  I apologize for the high-pitched baby voice at the beginning--sometimes Simon will binky if I sound excited/happy enough.

Look what I did!

He looks way too proud of himself.  He somehow managed to simultaneously move his litter box and flip it sideways without spilling the contents.  Apparently, it is also his new toy box.  I found him sleeping behind it this morning and this is the look he gave me upon realizing my presence.

You're on your own, human.

I don't know whether I should give River a noogie or run for my life.  Either way, I don't think Simon is gonna help me out on this one.

The Monday morning look.

The bunnies fail to see why hitting the snooze button repeatedly isn't an acceptable strategy to avoid Monday mornings.

Looks comfy.

It's hard work being so fluffy!  Simon and River are resting up for another week of bunny cuteness.  Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Monday.

Not to be out-done by Simon...

Open mouth, insert foot...quite literally.  River isn't immune to doing silly things (as much as she'd like us to believe otherwise) even if it is under the guise of "cleaning".  If you look closely, you can see bunny tongue.

Our silly little bun.

I just had to share this silly pic of Simon trying to lick his elbow.  He almost did a somersault just before I took this.  He then decided it was safer to back himself into the corner and continue his cleaning.  His little ears were flopping everywhere--kinda wish I had grabbed the video camera on this one!

I have a bunny entourage!

Simon and River are rabbiting my steps.

They're grrrape!

Simon experiences his first grape.  His world will never be the same again.  Grapes.  Are.  Awesome!
Awesome enough to go all "sneaky bun" and try to steal River's grape from her.  Here he is trying to tip-toe his way over while attempting to look nonchalant about it.
Don't worry, the epic grape theft was averted by herding Simon away so River could happily munch her grape in peace.
