Little eavesdropper!

We were discussing giving the bunnies a special treat before bedtime when Big Human glanced over to see Simon with his ear up listening very intently to our conversation.

In case you were wondering, cantaloupe was the bedtime snack for tonight.

Found him!

Simon did a runner when I was giving him some hay.  He knows he isn't where he's supposed to be and that he'd better not attempt to claim our bathroom with the same zeal that River attempts to claim his litter box.  Judging by the look on his face, I arrived in the nick of time!

Nudge!

River:  Whatcha got?

Simon:  ...Nothing! [moves ear to hide papaya treats]

A change of pace.

Simon:  I can be reckless.  Look--I'm gonna sneak up on River!

Mr. Giraffe:  I wouldn't do that if I were you.

This ended about as well as you'd expect it to.

A little bun who had better not be chewing on my shoelaces.

Little game changer.

Looks like River is unwittingly playing a game of
hide-and-sneak!  This is a bold move on Simon's part and I'm not sure how you win this particular game.

Bunboozled again!

River said, "Hop up here so we can play on the couch!" and when I did, she hopped down.

Bunsplaining.

Little human said, "Here's some hay; it's time for bed," and I said, "No!"  If you had just hopped out of your cage like I did, we could be having more playtime right now.

Simon:  Is that a carrot I hear?
River:  [gulp!] ...No.
I don't think he's buying it.  The carrot-breath kinda gives it away.

[drama intensifies]  Somebun ate all of my food!  Only a tummy rub and a second bowl full of pellets with extra candy will make things okay.
Strange that the "pellet thief" strikes at the same time every day.  He had to content himself with just the tummy rub.

Work smarter, not harder.

If I pin my ear against River's head, I can clean my ear really easily while she thinks I'm giving her kisses.  Win-win!

How to catch a bun.

It's good to know that whenever River decides to make a break for the kitchen, all I have to do is crack the bathroom door open a bit and she will always walk right into my trap.
This has saved me from sooo many knocked over houseplants and her playing musical chairs underneath our dining table!

Nobunny's perfect.

Simon took a page out of River's playbook and pulled a runner while I was giving him hay before bedtime.  The siren call of the bunny-free zone that is the 2nd floor beckons!  Sometimes even the most hard-working accountabilibunny gives in to temptation.

The heart-attack inducing cuteness could not be contained.  The little dude had no idea she was hiding in the box waiting for the perfect moment to 'brighten' his day.
