Sending hugs and comfort.

Our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of those who lost their lives in Las Vegas.  We wish the injured a full and quick recovery and would like to thank all those who helped others in their time of greatest need.
I know that hearing about shootings on the news has sadly become an almost daily occurrence due mainly to gang violence or those with untreated mental health issues, but we all need to realize that just because something is common, it does NOT make it normal or acceptable.
Apathy to the situation will not solve this problem nor will hatred towards anyone dissimilar to ourselves.  The root causes of why people join gangs in the first place along with developing a health care system that makes mental health care available and affordable to everyone without any stigma attached needs to be addressed.  It is up to all of us to make this happen because as we've seen here, the problem doesn't just affect one person; it affects everyone they come in contact with.

It's horrible the amount of violence that is spreading throughout the world. Spain, USA and many many others are suffering because of that. As you said I hope a quick recovery to those who were wounded and all my support to those who have lost someone in the attacks.

Hi Mónica,

It really is, but I think it's also that we're so connected now with the internet that we're actually hearing about more things that are happening all over the world where we just weren't before (or at least not to the same extent). I try to keep things in perspective by reminding myself that we don't tend to hear happy news stories nearly as often as the depressing ones. So long as we remember that there are good people out there, there's hope that we all can make the world a better place.
