Big human and I saw this little munchkin on the way to our car today. He was so tiny! Seriously, the little fella would've barely come up to Amos' chest. We've never seen a wild bun so young in mid-August.

You're very welcome! I heard from a wildlife rehabber that works with Eastern cottontails that the little fella is still too young to be fully on his own, so there's probably a nest nearby that he toddled away from. I think we spotted Mama Bun tonight not too far away from where we found our little hare apparent. :)
Looks like Amos' title of littlest man ever has been relinquished! Ah, I wish I lived close to wild rabbits, how magical must be to be walking down the street and finding a tiny fella just minding its own business.

It really is neat being able to see these little guys do their wild bunny thing. I've mostly only seen adults, but Big Human goes on runs early in the morning, so he sees a lot more baby buns in the spring. We were holding hands while walking to the car and he suddenly stopped and when I turned to see what was up, he pointed to the baby bun sitting right next to his side of the sidewalk. I was looking the other way, so this Bun Alert is definitely courtesy of him! :)
