Honestly, you're not the only one! I guess he was more concerned with the speed at which the Biden administration would go after him for inciting insurrection and sedition with his little coup attempt, and thought it prudent to get out of town as quickly as possible. Then again, there would be no way Trump could sit through Biden's inauguration without trying to draw attention to himself like a toddler, so it's best he wasn't there at all.
Given all of Trump's shenanigans over the past 4 years, there was a collective sigh of relief when the clock struck noon because Trump would no longer have active nuclear launch codes.
