January 6, 2021

The bunnies are both angry and severely disappointed at Trump and the humans he incited to insurrection at the Capitol building today as Congress was in the process of certifying the electoral college vote.

If you take away anything from the events of today, it should be that Democracy is fragile and it must be defended from those who would refuse a peaceful transition of power to a legitimately elected successor.

January 7, 2021 3:45am Congress has certified the electoral college votes needed to confirm Joe Biden's Presidential election victory.

I'm so glad Biden won in the end, because that was what THE PEOPLE elected and not some orange b*tch. Honestly what is wrong there, I've never seen a president that lies that much, that OBVIOUS, and still manages to get a hundred of his most deranged followers to storm a building with guns while police do nothing just because he's a sore loser. I hope you all take care and are safe, because things aren't going to get easier, those people are maniacs. Thank goodness we have some light in the world like bunnies!

Hi Mónica!

We are too! The only positive I can see coming out of Trump's presidency is that it has shown a spotlight on so many aspects of our government that will need to be codified into law instead of relying on tradition/precedent/the expectation that the person elected president wouldn't be a completely corrupt narcissistic pathological liar only interested in enriching themselves at any cost. It has also shown that the mayor of DC needs to be in control of the DC National Guard instead of having to wait for the Secretary of Defense's (a presidential appointee) explicit permission to allow their use within DC. That was a major cause of the Capitol being under siege.

We have a lot of work to do in this country to attempt to fix the mess he and his enablers have created to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again. Thankfully, the Democrats will have control of both houses of Congress and the presidency so legislation can actually be passed and we can have a functioning government again.

Aww, thanks--we live within a short drive of DC, so the attack on the Capitol was our local news. So true about bunnies being a bright spot in our lives! They've gotten a whole lot of noogies the past few days. :)
