I feel like Simon was going for 'King of all he surveys/benevolent dictator of the living room' with this pose, but somehow captures the low-key panic of 'Oh, dear--How do I get back down?!' instead.

I'd say it's both, Simon is usually good at improvising, like when he takes a tumble he'll make it look graceful like he intended to do so! And I can totally see him wearing a crown, robe and holding a scepter talking to the audience of big humans, little humans and River as his queen, Mr. Giraffe as chancellor, and Scoots McGee as the court jester!

The little fella definitely has charisma! Oh, no worries--I am Simon's personal couch elevator for just such emergencies...which are often...mostly because River tricks him into hopping up onto the couch. You'd think he'd learn after 10.5 years of this, but nope! ;)
