I'm guessing River got the coolest flopping spot due to her comfy expression and the 'Harrumph!' look Simon is throwing her. She looks like a little puddle of bun!
Well, comparison is the thief of joy. I guess Simon is thinking that the flopping spot is always cooler on the other side of the purple towel/wherever River currently is. It was kind of funny that he immediately took over her spot when she binkied off to play. Any other spot on the wood floor would've been cooler than where he chose. Bunny logic is a thing to behold! :)
