He made a break for it just before the humans' bedtime. Not gonna lie, we really do take full advantage of Simon's inability to cross wooden floors!
I can imagine him running towards freedom, believing himself to be smarter than anybody else and then... "Carrots! I can't walk on wooden floors!" I'm sure his sister won't let him hear the end of it.
The look on the little fella's face really said it all. You're right, I think River was laughing at him on that one!
So, so thwarted! He did fret about the edge of the rug for a bit, but ultimately allowed himself to be herded back into his cage without a fuss. The treat for following directions helped to take the edge off of the bruised ego.
He takes the floor is lava game very seriously! :)
