For some reason, that is their favorite spot ever. It may be because they're near their friends the mirror buns, they can see everything in the room from there, or that the floor is nice and cool with the option of playing with their purple towel (or a combination of all 3). Simon and River are mysterious in that way! ;)

They must be either enjoying the purple towel smell or they want their scent back! because they have barely moved away from it in the last days!
