Hoppy Halloween! 🎃

Naomi:  When I said I wanted to be a cowgirl, this isn't quite what I had in mind.

Amos:  My costume is okay, but this pumpkin is giving me some 'stranger danger' vibes!

For a pair of 7 month old bunnies, Amos and Naomi were very good about humoring me with their very first costumes!  I'm honestly amazed they let me get a pic of them in the same frame, with costumes on, and with the jack-o'-lantern that they've never seen before.  Naomi even took a nap in her moo-cow costume/blanket!

We almost died! (not really)

Amos and Naomi learned a valuable lesson on why we don't pull the baby gate towards ourselves.  Thankfully, the gate caught on the bathroom door frame as it came down and they just scared themselves as it ended up at a 45° angle.

I came around the corner just as they succeeded in yanking on it and honestly, it was like watching a cartoon of two little bunnies running in place before shooting away from the gate of doom!  This pic is the immediate aftermath of them regretting their poor life choices.

I don't know what Naomi is planning, but I'm sure the chaos created will be epic.

The moment Amos discovered where I store the alfalfa cubes.  Little dude was working hard to run off with the entire one pound bag before I could reach him!

Naomi's slippery binky landing was equal parts scary and exhilarating.  Naturally, she immediately tried to do it again!  I think this may be the bunny equivalent of a roller coaster ride. 🎢

I love how Naomi is completely flat-footed and can still set her chin on the coffee table.  This is a super power that our old bun, Simon, could only dream of!

I love how the wood chips in the wake of Naomi's path of destruction haven't even hit the ground yet in this pic.  Amos is looking on in awe as it never occurred to him that he could kick an entire litter box over and make his own confetti cannon as the wood chips got sucked up into the fan.

Amos actually whistled as he binkied past me!  That little fella is just too precious! 💕

Naomi has entered into a climbing contest with her mirror bun. So far, it looks like they're tied, but Naomi is pretty confident she can win this!

A new toy!

Naomi has just discovered the awesomeness of the paper bag!

Amos looks like a little cartoon character when he lands a binky like this.  Those uppy ears just crack me up!

Teenage bunny drama flop!

Amos:  Naomi, my Juliet, why can't we play together?! [drama flops]

Naomi:  Okay, Romeo, I know the answer to this one!  It's because we're not spayed/neutered yet.

Climbing for kibble.

Naomi was trying to get into the bag of 'baby bunny' (round) pellets, so I moved them on top of the entertainment center.  She decided to follow them until she noticed the box of 'grown up' pellets.

If only Amos was this easy to convince to try new things!  Little dude refused to try them for an entire week, picking out the round pellets and leaving all the normal shaped ones in his dish.

8 pounds of bunny in a 4 pound tunnel.

Amos: [muffled] I fit too!

Judging by Naomi's expression, Amos does not, in fact, "fit too."

Mistakes were made.

Like Icarus, Naomi flew too close to the sun and is now regretting her poor life choices.  That is the face of a bun who knows she's about to be picked up because it's too scary to hop down on her own.

Also, I'm glad that past me thought to put the towel and pillowcase on top of their cages to protect bunny feet from falling through the cage bars should one of them do exactly this.  Baby bunnies can't be trusted to not explore all the dangerous places! 😅

Amos and Naomi may not have defeated my bunny proofing, but they had fun and that's what counts!

Naomi was flopped there first and then came Amos...

The little fella squeezed himself between her and the wall and managed to slide her across the plastic.  I love how Amos' little feet are pointed together to give him just enough oomph to move Naomi, who is in disbelief this has happened.

Working in shifts.

Amos and Naomi won't stop trying to thwart my bunny proofing even if it takes them all vacation to do it!

Banana chips!

Naomi found where all the food went during playtime.  I had to put the banana chips into witness protection after their discovery.  Mr. Giraffe stood guard so no shenanigans befell them. 🍌🦒   🐇🐇

Excuse you!

Naomi is just Amos' personal jungle gym at this point.  The little dude's new favorite thing is to just crawl over her whenever she's flopped.  He's lucky she's so patient with him (even while he's sitting on her head)!

Third time's a charm!

Yay--I finally found the correct configuration to bunny proof that area!!! 🥳

Amos is rushing to help Naomi defeat my bunny proofing attempt.  It's a bit of a switch to see her on her tippy-toes for once.

This is Amos helping.  I guess he makes a pretty good armrest, so he's got that going for him!  I appreciate that Naomi didn't use him as a step stool.

A quiet moment.

Naomi is seeking legal counsel from Mr. Giraffe, Esq. concerning how much trouble she'd get into if she managed to evade containment and go downstairs to visit grandpa...and explore the rest of the house.

Amos has decided to forego legal advice and is going with the 'better to beg forgiveness than ask permission' approach to vacation home exploration.

Double trouble!

The little munchkins decided that teamwork was needed to overcome my second attempt at bunny proofing grandpa's guestroom.

I love how this pic shows their size difference!  Amos is on his tippy-toes while Naomi is flat-footed and he still only comes up to her shoulders.

Road trip!

Amos and Naomi were hard at work testing our impromptu bunny proofing efforts at grandpa's house.  Guess what happened next!

After I fortified the first barricade, Amos, expecting similar shoddy construction practices, wasted no time in testing the others.  Guess what happened next!

You guys, under the bed is the entrance to bunny Disneyland.  The fuzzy little boomerang was intent on riding ALL of the rides under there and would not stop until he got his money's worth!

Naomi was inspecting the door to the crawl space, which would've been like a portal to the Upside Down had she managed to gain entry.  Nothing but ancient insulation and boxes of times past in there.

Amos discovered the night light Dad unearthed from my own childhood so the bunnies wouldn't be scared of the dark in a new place. 💕
