River's preparing to jump onto the coffee table while Simon looks on with a "I sure wouldn't do that if I were you" look.
The coffee table is a bunny-free zone so jumping onto it would be the Queen Mother of all bad ideas and would result in having couch privileges permanently revoked.
In the end, she thought better of it and preserved couch time for herself. Crisis averted!

The art of disguise.
Simon: I'll totally sneak up on River in this box then jump out and scare her!
River: Simon, I know that boxes don't move on their own. I'm deaf, not stupid.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend! We'll be back with more bunny antics on Monday.

You're not helping!
I've discovered that when it comes time to "flush their toilets" each night, wherever I am becomes the most interesting place in the apartment to be.
As soon as they see the trash bag and bin of fresh litter, they come running and start trying to "help" me in my task. Said help usually consists of jumping into their previously forgotten litter box and staring at me or jumping into and out of it spraying bunny funk all over their cage in excitement.
Once they've been chased out of the litter box, River generally makes a habit of trying to suffocate herself in the trash bag. At least this time she isn't fighting me by trying to climb into the bag while I'm dumping the manky litter. You laugh, but it has happened before! She seems to not understand (or care) that this is the opposite of being helpful.

Hello!
Every so often Simon will stop playing and check in with me (and get some noogies) before bounding off on another playtime adventure.

Hmmm...
I'm not sure if River is thinking about her plans for bunny world domination or if she's pondering the best way to get some oats.

Soccer buns.
Why bunnies generally aren't allowed at sporting events.

It's binky time!
I figured that I owed you all two happy bunnies to help counteract yesterday's disapproval extravaganza.

How the world could end...
I was looking through old pictures and happened upon this skit I did of our old bunny, Penny in all of her disapproving glory. Thought you guys might get a chuckle out of it.

Wishful thinking.
If I can't see you, you can't see me!
I think Simon was tired of getting his picture taken and I'm pretty sure both he and his sister now view me as a paparazzi. Oh the price of bunny cuteness!

Buns of Steel.
Here's to all the Dads out there who have helped teach us conflict resolution skills. You'll always be our personal superhero. Happy Father's Day!
To everyone else, we wish you a very happy Sunday!

Not what she was going for.
River took a bit of a tumble out of her cage. She slipped as she kicked off the ground to jump out and ended up catching her back left foot just under the door. I ran over just after the pic was taken but she managed to slide down the ramp before I got to her.
I did the "stand up" command (from a previous post) to make completely sure her foot was okay and she was binkying around the living room not 5 minutes later.
So, today's post is just a warning on how quickly playtime could result in an injury and a reminder to keep a close eye on your bunny/bunnies when they're out.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope you all have a great weekend! We'll be back on Sunday for a special holiday post.

The bunny's creed.
This is my towel. There are six more like it, but this one is mine.
It is my plaything. Without me it is just a towel. Without my towel, I am a bunny wondering where my towel is.
It is where I binky. It is where I nap. It is where I've mastered the bunny flop.
It is fluffy and soft as I am fluffy and soft. Thus, I will learn how to mark it as mine.
I will learn how much I can dig at it before it tears. I will learn how to tunnel under it and find daylight again.
I will keep it clean with bunny hork, even as I keep myself clean.
I must protect my towel from being stolen by my little sister.
I must be ever vigilant of humans looking to fold it up and put it away, signifying the end of playtime.
I will.
Simon takes his purple towel very seriously.

Sulky little bun loaf.
Simon: Not that I'm taking the little human's side or anything, but she did keep chasing you away from going behind the baby gate and she told you no multiple times even if you didn't hear her.
River: ...
Simon: Are you done sulking yet? I only ask because it's playtime and all and we aren't really playing right now.
River: ...
Simon: No? Okay. I guess I'll just wait here then. [sigh]

Bunny chit-chat.
I was sitting on the loveseat while the bunnies were on the couch when I glanced over to find River staring at me like this.
She looked so earnest that I decided to just mirror what she was doing and see what happened. Meanwhile, Simon is fretting on how to get down from the couch.
At this point, I began to think I must have committed some egregious bunny social faux pas when...
In actuality I had agreed to her jumping directly into my lap!
It's clear that my human-to-rabbit communication skills need a bit of fine-tuning because she almost gave me a heart attack and I very nearly dropped the camera in my haste to catch her.

All tuckered out.
It's been a long week and the bunnies are wasting no time getting started on their weekend.
Thanks for visiting the blog and we hope your weekend is as relaxing as Simon and River's is shaping up to be! We'll be back on Monday.

This goes over here.
I caught Simon pushing the bag across the floor so it wasn't an obstacle in his Bunny 500 Speedway.
He pushed that thing about 10 feet across the carpet--the little guy was focused. He takes his racing seriously! Well, that and he didn't want to trip over it again.

He did this on purpose.
He looked at me right in the eye before doing this knowing full well that I'd be taking his picture. Kind of like a little kid saying, "Mom, look-look-look!!!"
My husband and I don't know how so much derpiness could be contained in such a small bunny. We're pretty sure we've found Simon's super-power.

Everybun's a critic!
I decided to attempt sketching Simon and River while they had their playtime. I am out of practice and they move fast. Needless to say, the bunnies were unimpressed with my efforts. Simon is trying to destroy the sketchpad while River is contemplating taking my pencil away.
